Looks like we will be making a swing down that way in early February, looks like a nice resort. Has anybody here been to Mira Vista and have some info to share?

We were there for a couple of days in our RV 2 years ago. Agree it's very nice. Did not see the rooms but assume they are AOK. Ditto for dining (no evidence of same but they must have something on weekends.) Very quiet during the week but this was June. Nice pool and palapa. Enjoyed walking the grounds and a bit into the desert that surrounds the place.

OK, if you say so. I know it's a dry heat, but I remember being in Tucson in June a long time ago, had a picnic out in the desert, under an airplane wing set up on stilts for shade. Temp was roughly 110. It was hot..

February looks to be in the very low 70s, wife is a little concerned it will be too cool, but I think in the direct sun it should be nice. Hopefully there's a bit of a heatwave when we're there!

If you have direct sun and no wind you should be fine during the day, but I expect it will cool down rapidly!!

Wife and I enjoyed a week there in mid-Oct. Everyday was filled with warm to hot sunshine. Would spend our mornings out exploring and hiking in the Tucson area, and the afternoons lounging around the pool, relaxing and soaking up the sun. We stayed in a fully furnished luxury condo with full kitchen, king bed, washer/dryer, HDTV, etc. always eating breakfast in and usually going out for lunch and/or dinner. The MVR restaurant is open Thu-Sun, serving gourmet to casual meals. We enjoyed lunch there and dinner several times. There’s also a small bar near the boutique store and reception desk if you’re so inclined.

The grounds and facilities are well-maintained and landscaped with additional “casa” construction on-going in one corner of the resort. The staff is friendly and very accommodating as are the full-time residents we met. The pool area consists of one large pool, a smaller “water volleyball” pool, and a large conversation jacuzzi/hot tub. There are ample loungers, chairs and tables in the pool area plus a large covered pavilion for shade. There’s also a fitness room, tennis/pickle ball courts, and a recreation/social activity room. We enjoyed walking around the interior perimeter road of the grounds each evening just before sunset...always spectacular!

MVR is an AANR affiliated resort and not a “party” resort like say a “Caliente” out in the Tampa area. The resort is fairly quiet with only a handful of guests during the weekdays, and more guests and social activities on the weekends. We’re not much for large crowds, so we enjoyed the quiet ambience and solitude while there. Would advise checking out the MVR webpage for more info. We’d definitely go back.

We were there in September. It was very nice, quiet, and yet friendly and comfortable. We were only there on a day pass but did see both the hotel rooms and the condos. They were nice. As Sun4MnM mentioned, the walk around the interior perimeter road was enjoyable. The pool and conversation tub area were clean and well maintained. The bar was nice and small. The whole place was very quaint so if you are into a nice quiet getaway, it is great for that. We would go back and maybe stay next time!

OK, early June <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> Was hot in the sun but probably only in the low 90's. Lots of shade at the pool anyway.

Thanks! We too don't care for large crowds or small spaces, so this sounds perfect for a Feb. visit. Now we'll just hope it's warm enough.

We've visited MVR a few times now ... each time at a different time of year. Our last visit was in Feb/Mar of this year. It was cold in the mornings and all our nudity was confined inside our condo. Luckily we had a two bedroom to accommodate the group.

One of our friends and I went hiking each morning. We figured we'd return later and find everyone out at the pool deck. The cloud cover never dissipated and we ended up doing other things that required clothing; air museums, missile silo tour, shopping.

Toward the end of our week stay, the temps increased and the cloud cover diminished and we were able to enjoy warm late morning to early evening temps of low to mid 70's. We've not visited MVR in the summer but have visited many parts of AZ in the summer and it can get hot. It can reach temps of 110 and even hotter for sure but those temps aren't sustained for days on end. Early June should be nice for sunning, the pool and as you stated, there's lots of sun shade at MVR.
