Car Seats and Taxis (water and land)

Car Seats and Taxis (water and land) - 03/04/2017 05:59 PM

Heading back to Jost after a long absence. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" /> We will have five adults and two - two years olds. We will be flying into STT.

Two questions:

1. Do we need car seats? I know we won't be traveling much over 20mph after we get off the plane. If we do need them can the taxi companies provide? We don't want to really lug those things around.

2. Does anyone have any experience with Foxy's Charters as a water taxi? Are they reliable? Can they help arrange a private land taxi from the airport? Why are they cheaper than Dolphin Shuttle?

Thanks!

1. If you aren't planning on getting into an accident, then I wouldn't worry about a car seat. I'm not sure if Taxi's provide them. We always bring ours, we just strap it to a carry on rolling bag to get it around the airport.

2. Have no experience with them.

The two year olds and any infant on up should always be strapped into an FAA approved restraint (car seat) on the airplane. So you will have them whether you need them on not in the BVI.

If the weather ever gets rough anyone who cannot swim and cannot respond fully to adult commands is strapped into a car seat on our boats. Holding small children and infants in never ever safe when the going in the air or water gets rough. Make sure the restraints you have are stamped with the proper FAA approval. The flight attendants regularly check.
