BVI bareboat charter

BVI bareboat charter - 05/17/2017 08:10 PM

I am looking into companies that charter catamaran in BVI. Other than the Moorings, I would like to know if anyone has tried any other company. i.e. Footloose, TMM Yacht Charters, BVI Yacht Charters, etc.

Hi. I see that you are brand new here. Welcome! Lots of people here use several different companies, yes. Suggest you take a look at some of the trip reports for info.

Check out TTOL sponsor ORION float plan. Here S/V ORION is a lagoon 400s2 with 4 rooms and 2 baths. Mark is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He also has BVI mariner here I would recommend him to anyone, and if you decide to go in another direction he will be happy to help there too. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

Welcome! Over the years we have used Sunsail, BVI Yacht Charter and TMM. Sunsail was years ago so I guess it doesn't really count. Enjoyed our experiences with both BVIYC and TMM, but finally decided to put my own Cat into the TMM fleet for charter! I guess that makes it clear where I think is best...

Happy to respond to any questions!
Enjoy!

We will be using TMM again next week (fourth time). Love them. Great staff and boats.

You might want to check out Conch Charters too. Older boats, but in great shape and at good price.

You should also consider CYOA.
They are based in St. Thomas, with many more direct flight opportunities, and only about a 2-hour sail to the BVI.

I'll second the recommendation of S/V Orion and the team at TMM - both top notch!

Much longer and cheaper if you take advantage of the peaceful, natural beauty of STJ harbors too.

We chartered numerous times in bvi and finally put a lagoon 450 in the TMM fleet. So far, they have been to excellent to work with as both a charterer and an owner. In part, I chose TMM due to the very strong reviews from people in their industry.

Obviously I have some bias as you might charter our boat, but I have no benefit if you charter any other TMM boats.

Lastly, the recommendations re Mark and his boat Orion are spot on.

Do not waste your money on The Catamaran Company. Worst vacation ever. They do not care if you have a problem with the boat not functioning as needed.

Our first trip to the BVI we used VIsailing.com, a broker. They presented several options with multiple charter companies. No charge to the sailor.
We will be using BVIYC for the third time next week.
