Cane garden bay things - 06/06/2018 01:28 PM

At cane Garden Bay there is building going on everywhere they have put up a new wall by the cemetery. There is a little tent that sells food and beers and drinks and has lounge chairs with umbrellas then there's myettes that looks really good to me there's still a lot of greenery, gift shop is open last night it was packed for their BBQ ran out of ribs our fault we got there too late they have happy hour and a decent lunch menu not just pizza. There's building going on at Elm Beach Suites. Tony's is not allowed to go back to his beach spot he is fixing up his house and building a bar in front of his house haha it is behind myettes. There's also a new looks like eatery bar called bananas behind myettes getting ready to open. Bobby's is not open yet but they are in their stocking. Rhymers is up and running just fine they also have brrakfasy, lunch and dinner and a happy hour and Paradise Lounge next to it has happy hour and serving a couple of main pasta dishes. unfortunately the little store that is next to quitos right on the beach and was fairly new is not being worked on and quitos is still being worked on. The hills are getting greener everyday and that is a real flower! The beach is lovely!

What is the deal about Tony not being allowed back to his space?

Lease dispute.

From what I hear there is some dispute over the lease..I believe Stanley still owns it but dont know what his plans are..shame to lose one of our favorite lunch spots. I do encourage folks to check out Rhymer's..much nicer since they rebuilt after Irma.

The lease was original written to Stanley. When he gave up the bar, his nephew (Tony) took it over. Eventually the lease ended and turned into a month-to-month lease. When the owner came to Tony in September or October with the new lease terms, they could not come to terms so Tony decided to move. I believe the property is owned by Prince Stoutt's family.

Thanks J..figured you'd know the whole story..wonder if Prince ( owner of "Stott's Lookout") will now move to that site.

I don't think so. He likes it on the hill. He has told me his mother wanted him to take that spot when he opened the Lookout but he wanted to be at the "busy intersection"...

Had a couple of quick ones, bushwackers, up on the lookout a few weeks ago, it’s a nice place!

Can't wait for his bananas to ripen so the BBC can return!

I have a hard time seeing that huge hotel going up. One of the things that made CGB so special was the quaintness of the area. It I just looks so large..... happy to hear about the rest of the progress. The bay will always be my first love in BVI

Is there entertainment at Myette’s with any regularity? We had a great time last year before Irma with a great band. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the band. A younger woman was singing and she was fantastic.

Usually on Saturday nights. For a while the Elm Tones were playing, but lately it has been Marcus Mark.

And a 3 night minimum, so that's $2,100 to stay 3 nights in CGB. I'm not optimistic about the hotel being full.
