Scrub Island

Scrub Island - 11/05/2018 11:54 PM

Yikes!! We love to spend one night at Scrub Island during our charter. The rates have gone up quite a bit. Last time we did this was May, 2017 and the basic room was $305.00 plus tax & resort fee!
Now it's $450.00 plus extras. Wish I had some Marriot points - darn!
I'm sure we will vote to stay there anyway because it's wonderful circle

Glad to hear you find it wonderful..I find it overpriced and not fitting in with the BVI's...

I have never stayed there. But for $450+ per night it had better be damn nice. Wow.

Why not take advantage of the property, but sleep on the boat? The boat is already paid for, and if it were I, I much rather sleep on the boat then in a hotel.

Yeah.. we've stayed a number of times on the boat. All the benefits at a fraction of the cost!

Has Marine Max left Scrub for Nanny Cay? If so, I would agree.

According to Marine Max's website, they are now in Nanny Cay.

I have also stayed on our boat on the dock a couple times and one time ended a trip staying overnight in the hotel. Both were fabulous treats during and after a sail.

For me having the convenience of walking off the cat onto the dock and using the pool and bar then showering in their lovely bathrooms is really a treat mid-trip. Worth the extra dockage fees.

I was just reading the Scrub Island marina fees. It appears they have added a resort access fee of '20% of total dockage rate' for marina guests.

For a 50' boat in high season (Jan 6 - Apr 30), a 1 night stay would be about $234 with dockage ($2.50/ft), electricity ($50 for 50A service), resort fee, and tax (17%).

Sunnykm, yes, that's how we feel too. Great place to either meet guests after they arrive and are taxied over from the airport or mid week. We have also ended our charter there. So nice to be pampered!

Scrub Island Marina used to offer TTOL member discount to $1.50/ft. Seems like our stay in 2017 was a little under $100 for 40' Cat and Elect.

If they still offer the deal, that would be great. But without it, I think I'd go elsewhere. Although knowing how much fun my son would have on their water slide, especially since he could do it on his own now, we'd probably have to stop.

They are offering $1.50 a foot in the off season. You don't need to mention TTOL We figured it would be about $120.00 for the night. NOT INCLUDING the crazy bar bill we will have. LOL

We actually are open to staying somewhere else after charter since we are planning on the one night during charter. But we having a tough time finding something comparable to SBI or even Emerald on Tortola. We looked at Sugar Mill but it's $$$ also. And their beach restaurant isn't open on Monday and Tuesday which is when we plan on being there. Suggestions?

Nanny Cay has a nice pool on a little beach, good beach bar and decent rooms.

Not sure when you trip is scheduled, but Agape Cottages will be opening in January. It's about 50 steps from our driveway to the beach at Myett's.
