5 Night BVI Itinerary suggestions/tips - Power cat - 03/11/2019 03:10 PM

Hi - chartered a power cat out of Road Town next winter for my 50th bday. Since it is only 5 nights, was curious to listen to any suggestions and advice on the itinerary. We'll sleep aboard the night before. Preliminary thought was:

Day 1: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Day 2: AM The Baths (early)
PM White Bay, Guana Island
Day 3: AM Sandy Spit/Green Cay
PM Great Harbor, JVD
Day 4 AM White Bay JVD
PM Great Harbor JVD
Day 5 Leave it open, with options such as Cane Garden, Deadman's Bay, the Bight, Smuggler's Cove, White Bay - Peter Island

Why not moor in Diamond Cay JVD on day 3, you have B-Line and foxy's taboo there...and can dinghy to Sandy Spit. Then move round to Great Harbour for day 4 (dinghy or taxi over to White Bay for the day).

If you can make CGB your destination for Sunday I would HIGHLY recommend The Elm Sunday night. The bar b q is great and the band, The Elmtones, are really terrific. David Thrasher has moved back on island and his harmonica playing and vocals add even another dimension. Icing on the cake last night was a "guest" spot by Daddy Magic!! Get there about 5.30 to grab a good table.

Are you planning on overnighting at White Bay, Guana? Not sure that is a reliable winter overnight mooring field.

Keeping the itinerary pretty fluid, trying to give ourselves a couple of options each night for moorings based on availability and sea conditions. We have the boat from Monday morning through Saturday morning.

Flynny70 do you mind me asking what charter company you are using? We just got back from a crew charter on a 58ft cat and are now looking at Bareboat powercats. Seems there is not a lot to choose from right now.

We got a 514 power cat from The Moorings.
