Wow, it looks spectacular! Wonder how they ever got the governmental approval for that?

Looks like they’ve encroached on the seabed and I don’t see an encroachment problem when you polish the bank accounts of those involved.
Remember payoffs to government officials is legal, it’s called Lobbying

Saba dingy dock and restaurant have always been cantilevered out over the water.
Might be a little bigger now, but not much.

Saba Rock Before

Good to see progress.

Haven't been in 10 years but looking forward to getting back there. Same with BEYC.

Obviously they aren't just rebuilding what was there before. Looks like some major changes to the layout.

Bitter End Yacht Club
Dear Friends of Bitter End,
Prior to the 1970s, provisions were pretty hard to come by in the BVI. Over time, the demand for fresh food, drink and supplies grew. So, as part of Bitter End 2.0, we’re excited to introduce our new and improved general store, the Bitter End Market. We’ll have a wide selection of fresh produce and fish, gourmet noshes, Winston’s world famous baked goods, wines and spirits, and all things you need to keep your crew happy. We’re equally jazzed about the return of the Reeftique boutique featuring island-style fashion alongside Bitter End’s own line of seaworthy goods. We can’t wait to welcome you ashore in 2020 to outfit your crew. And thanks again for being our mainstay during this journey - we could not make this comeback without you! #BringBackBitterEnd

Beautiful and I'm sure the prices will reflect that. Just seems we are fast losing all the reasonable, wonderful, places we used to love. We are trying our best to keep things low here and then look at $25 "Special" rum..$20 chair rentals and umbrellas..all day long $5plus beers..and $10 mixed drinks..one place has "Shepard's pie" named I guess after the retired Fox host not the shepherd's who lived on it..$25??really for a $15 pie.Remember the $10 rotis..not long ago. $5 hot dogs..not anymore..Paid $18 today for a pretty bad cheeseburger and packaged fries.

Mal,
Not the same as at used to be! Probably not going back. Aidan and I are leaving tomorrow after three weeks. Back in April. Hope to see you again then.

Did a close "drive by" of both BEYC and Saba two weeks ago.
BEYC looked like a ghost town - nothing going on as far as I could see.
Saba had a bunch of constructions workers on site. I didn't see a single one of them (and I saw several) doing anything other than standing in the shade.

I will be astounded if either place is open for anything in 2020. I hope I'm wrong.

Mal, those were the days fer sure. I wonder if my daughter will remember the $20 rum drinks fondly......the great thing is that I have absolutely no recollection of what a rum punch cost in 1985!

Spoke with the representatives for The Bitter End at their booth in Annapolis at the sail show in October. They said the marina and provisions store would be open in March.
