And all the news blasts don't say it's their own son that killed them. Now whether he was here with them, or flew down to do it, is still in question.

That's probably the highest in the nation.
They usually measure it per hundred thousand and the USVI have a population of approx 106,000

Let's not go there, OK? This was a personal tragedy, but apparently a crime perpetrated by a family member, not the act of a roving local criminal.

I have a condo at Crystal Cove and know the unit where this tragedy took place. Crystal Cove has very good security and is very safe. It is one of the most beautiful beaches and resorts that I have ever seen. This incident was a horrible act of domestic violence by the son of two very nice people. Please do not judge St Thomas or Crystal Cove by this terrible incident. Unfortunately, it could happen anywhere.

They are from the town I grew up in and now live next to. Crazy... 2nd murderer I've heard about from our usually quiet town.

I heard he had a warrant out for him or something and maybe that's why they were there. Not sure if they all went together or not though.

Apparently he fled the scene and flew back home. The USVI authorities contacted their local police and arrested him.

Very sad for all involved: According to The Boston Globe, he had threatened his parents previously, and had long history of mental health issues. Mother just retired in January and it was a family vacation; he flew home after killing them and was arrested in his home town.
