It's great if you're an iguana! Just kidding. Haven't been here in a while, but there are no occupants here ... just birds, lizards, maybe a sea turtle or two. It's actually a nice spot to get away for a short visit, but you'll need to bring all your own stuff. There's kind of a lagoon on the southern shore, and the best beach IMO is on the western coast and should be totally unaffected by the sea grasses, etc. But, if you want to encounter of people I would choose Pinel instead (and it's closer).

Beautiful beach and swimming with turtles. You'll need to find a boat to get there. Not sure who offers a trip there these days.

Thanks.
Very interesting history.

It seems some of the folk who left Eroupe to come to the New World were very eccentric folk. (King of Tintamarre and Mary of Marys Boon).
I can imagine if I was alive back then I would have been one of those scared to venture across the seas to the unknown.

I think Tintamarre Island may be fun to visit with a group of poeple.

Beautiful beach. Great day trip. Need a boat to get there.
We would go and bring food and drink and spend the day.
Crystal clear water.

Appreciated the photos.
So one can find ruins of the 'kingdom'.
And of the aircrafts.

Do you have any photos of the beach?

There is a outfit that is transporting people to the island from the pinel ferry dock. Pretty reasonable prices to get you to the island. We didn’t do it but probably will next year. Just use to prefer taking Tiko Tiko over and being with some like minded individuals. The island is beautiful and worth the trip over especially if you like to snorkel. Good chance to see sea turtles.

Tammy,

I do not have any beach photos. The few times that I have been on Tintamarre the beach was fairly full so wanted to respect people's privacy. There are pictures available using Google. I am attaching a screen capture to show locations of some of the photos. The large red circle is the red-roofed building, the smaller red circle is the concrete structure with stairs. I believe that was the airport terminal building. The red lines show the old runway. The motors were near the terminal, the wreckage was off in the nearby scrub. The green line is the path I took. Plan on a one hour leisurely roundtrip. Shoes are necessary as there are thistles. It's interesting to explore -- I'd like to spend more time. If you take the hike, bring water and don't do it alone. The shoreline trees are tall and you can lose orientation as to west & south. Also I noticed some mattresses in the red-roofed building -- don't know if there are active squatters on the island.

I love Tintamarre. Every time we bareboat charter we stop overnight. There are no amenities on Tintamarre, just a beautiful unspoiled beach. Day trippers often descend upon Tintamarre until approximately 4 pm

I have a lot of beach photos of Tintamarre. How do I post a photo?
