We are going to be in Grand Case on a Tuesday night later this month. What exactly do they have going on special this night? It sounds like a parade or something takes place? What time does this start and is there a restaurant that we could make a reservation that has a table street side that we would be able to watch? Thanks

For the best choice of restaurants, I would go for sure to Le Cottage and have a table on the terrasse! You will have a wonderful dinner with the best vue ! But be sure to make a reservation !

I think the street fair & parade are on Thursday nights.

Parade & street fair is Tuesdays from 6-10. Entire street in grand case is closed to vehicles starts middle of January to mid April. Best to take taxi & setup pick up time at end of street in my opinion. Fun time!

Quoted web site says Jan 12 which is a Thursday. In past years it has been on thursdays.

In past years it has been on Tuesdays. It appears the website hasn't been updated for 2017.

It's always been on Tuesdays; if it's on Thursdays now, that's a change.

It has never been on Thursdays and the website has not been updated since last year. But upon using google I found an article that states it starts 1/10. Grand Case at Night

As I posted previously according to the Daily Herald, the first night is January 17.

Anyone on island and wanting to go on the 10th should call a restaurant in Grand Case for the correct info, but I personally would probably go with the Daily Herald, if I were a betting person.

I would just go both nights and if I ran into a party...so be it

Years back they use to have a special night
at Marigot Marina on Thursday nights.
Maybe that is the confusion.

It will probably be close, as it is normally around the first to second week of April. The original DH story did not say when the last one was supposed to be.

I know a person from the Herald and a Vendor and they both said Jan 17. If it starts the 10th, then all the better!

According to the online version of today's Daily Herald, the festivities start tomorrow night, January 17. The event will run for 12 weeks with an ending date of April 18 according to the same article.

They anticipate 2000-3000 people each night and the time is from 5:00 to 10:00.

I just got the confirmation that the last tuesday will be April 4th, unless they cancel one tuesday because of bad weather !

The Daily Herald story said April 18 was the last one, so not sure if they changed it, or the DH was wrong? Did you hear that date from a restaurant owner in Grand Case?

I asked on the FB page of Mardis de Grand Case and that's what they aswered me ! We are going to miss it by one week unless it rains on a tuesday before !! Keep my fingers crossed !

It may well end on the date you were told but the DH was implying information from and quoting organiser Chantal Vernusse in their article. Calypso Events was also mentioned as a source of information.

The DH has been wrong in the past and they may well be in this case but the same possibility exists for other sources also.

Since we are here we can confirm first one was Tuesday, 1/17/17. We had dinner reservations for that nite but changed them to last nite to avoid the crowd and chaos.

I agree but in the other hand, if you count 12 weeks beginning january 17th...it lead us to april 4th ! Anyway, we arrive today so I'll ask to my friends in Grand Case!

just came back from the Cottage tonight and I asked Stéphane when is the last tuesday of Les Mardis de Grand Case and he told me that it last 12 weeks but since they skip the valentine day thuesday, the last one will be april 11th unless there is another cancellation due to the weather !

How is Le Cottage these days?
We have not been there (st. Martin) since Bruno left.

The Cottage is just great !!! The chef David does amazing things with his team and Stéphane , who bought back the resto from Bruno , makes sure that you enjoy your evening ! And by the way, they still offer their legendary soufflé au caramel!!
Le Cottage is one of our favorite restaurant on the island !
