Bare boating in March.Want to go to Bomba's Full Moon Party but not sure if you can moor your boat by there. Even thinking of mooring at Trellis Bay and taking a cab over to Bomba's. Does anyone have suggestions or know how much a cab would cost?

For Bomba's Cane Garden Bay or Soper's are much better overnight propositions..

If you're gonna stop at Trellis, I'd just go to the party there. Like Mal said, CGB or West End are better options for Bomba's.

Since you mentioned Bomba's Full Moon Party...

We're planning on being there next month. I've looked at it and have a question, which may sound a little naïve. Is the (in)famous "Mushroom Tea" just a gimmick?

Not really a gimmick..not always very strong and tastes like were it came from! The Bomba Punch is a better bet with mushrooms soaked in the rum..

You are way more likely to get drunk or stoned than have a psychedelic experience.

If you go to Bomba's Full Moon party, forget about the mushroom tea. It's highly overrated. But do go, drink and have a great time. It's definitely an experience you will remember and talk about for a long time. It can be a freak show for sure, but there's nothing else like it !!

Bomba's mushroom tea is just a symbolic reminder of the early days (1980s-90s), when he'd serve a spiked pina colada and you'd watch the furniture breathe for the next four hours.

He's WAY too smart of a businessman to expose himself to that liability any longer.

Even Bomba matures, sadly.

I had the tea two years ago and it had a 'medicinal' quality. The feeling for me was more stoned than psychedelic, though. Not exactly like mushrooms from my youth but still effective. The next morning I was fine.

I didn't feel anything after the first cup. It was the second cup later in the night that brought the goods. It was more murky than the first cup and had 'stuff' floating in it. Later that night I definitely felt stoned, with all the weird side effects. There was clarity to everything around me and I had the wicked munchies. However, the other gal in our group had hallucinations late that night and the entire next day. She had no idea it was happening and didn't remember it when we told her about it. It was strange. And no, we had no drugs of any sort on the boat (unless you count Ginger Beer and Rum as drugs).

I imagine the quality and effectiveness of the brew changes month to month. It's an agricultural product, ya know. But I wouldn't write it off as symbolic.

Would I try it again? Oh yes.
