We've both had really bad chest colds recently that developed into some sort of bacterial infections requiring antibiotics. Our Dr. is going to give us prescriptions for Z packs in case the flight down brings it back. Question: Will the pharmacy on SXM fill if we need it, or should we get it filled and brig n it?

I would get it filled prior to leaving. Take it with you and if by chance you need more there is a chance you can get it. I doubt having it filled on the island would be a problem but I would not take the chance. Just went through a z-pak myself a few weeks ago.

I would fill it before leaving. If you feel so bad that you want to take it, it would be nice not have to find a pharmacy/dr. Small expense compared to the cost of the trip.

I have had prescriptions filled before going and needed more while on island. The on island pharmacy ( Dutch side) filled off the prescription bottle .

See Catherine and Jean Marie (Owners) at Front Street Pharmacy if you have a script from the US. No problem.

I agree. Get it filled before, so that if you need it, you have it for the flight down and your first day on island.

I suspect there is a difference depending on which side of the island you are on. We had problems on the French side getting medication we normally get over the counter in Canada. So I agree with the people who say to bring with yo the prescriptions you will need.

The pharmacy near sint rose cafe near the boardwalk & the pharmacy in marigot are both easy to deal with. I found products cheaper than home. They speak English in marigot. If you bring your own I would bring them in original containers in case of customs issues explaining what's in them.
Hope you enjoy your trip! Sunshine & wine are always a boost to your immune system! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
