I just saw a post on facebook, that jet blue is offering non stop from ft. Lauderdale 300 a ticket, with more leg room and no check bags. Now thats a great deal. Not sure about travel dates, may be a temp. thing but just thought I would share. Right now they have some great deals out of J.F.K as well, looking at flights for Nov. non stop is under 500 round trip...

as for the great non stop flights from fll to sxm. Got an email today....that my return flight to Fort Lauderdale for APRIL 6 has been changed!!!! Instead of the non stop i booked on a SATURDAY....they want to fly me to FLL through BOSTON!!!!!!! will be 11 hours of travel!! I tried to call, but was a half hour wait time, so figured i will try again in a day or two. A BRAND NEW ROUTE...changed already for April????? This makes NO SENSE at all. Hoping we will find it a mistake.

I was looking at the FLL route a few days ago. The FLL-SXM flights were still there, but the SXM-FLL return flights had all disappeared. They seem to be back now, so hopefully you can straighten it out with a phone call.

Maybe they had to change the time or something? Hopefully things are ok. I still think that the times on this flight are odd, as it is way too early for anyone to connect to it, unless they overnight in FLL.

Are these employees of airlines all brain dead?? Who In their right mind would expect a passenger who lives In Fla. to fly home via Boston? No mistake. We booked tickets on United to Curacao non-stop a while ago. They never notified us so when I checked online it was changed from EWR to Panama to Liberia, Costa Rica (an overnight) to Curacao. A total of 29 hours, versus 4 hours. Needless to say I used some choice words when they answered the phone. Their reason? They cancelled their non-stops. I hate all airlines!

Yikes, do I read that right, that you didn't know about this until you checked in online to leave?? Wow.. That's truly awful, especially when you went from a non-stop to a 29 hour trip!! Did they pay for your overnight??

The moral of the story is, regardless of airline, double-check your reservation, early and often !!

After rereading that post the word "in" wasn't after "checked". Makes me think they discovered it prior to there scheduled trip. We check our very often just in case we aren't notified as we expect changes booking as far in advance as we do.

Once again, this shows Jet Blue is not the darling (without faults) airline many seem to think they are.

Except that the JB N/S flight is still there. I would NEVER defend any airline but this looks to be schedule glitch that is now fixed. and back to the original

It will be interesting to see if it is the same N/S (times) he had scheduled....

Another possibility is that it might be "listed" but, as the plane is 95% empty, they might be switching people off with plans to cancel the flight.......or not .....

Interesting....

Edit again:

BTW round trip N/S Sat/Sat 3/30-4/6 ...$277 (no checked bags)..

You are right. It was a couple of weeks prior to leaving. Told them where to stick their tickets and was refunded the full amount. Needless to say, we booked another airline and guess who? American.

UPDATE!!!!

Got a hold of a JB representative. She checked her computer, and could NOT figure why I was ''rerouted". She checked, and put me back on the original flight. According to her, the computer must've done the change automatically. So...we will see if it will continue to fly the route. I also mentioned....that the flight was fairly empty...but what did they expect for a flight that had only been available and BRAND NEW, for less than a week??? I joked with her...if she would accept a flight from say Fort Lauderdale to New York or to Boston...Via a five hour layover in Los Angeles!!!!! She agreed that this move was one of the strangest she has seen. smile Keeping my fingers crossed.

Excellent! That's what I expected you would find. Bottom line, computer glitch with either bad data or bad programming. As always, with every airline, keep an eye on them.

Did anyone figure out exactly when they are supposed to start flying that route? The press release didn't say and I didn't mess around with various dates, trying to figure it out. I think that they may have to put up with some fairly light loads on that flight to begin with.
