Hi - A lot of the BVI testing content on this forum is centered around meeting US/ USVI or PR entry requirements. It seems that the Antigen test satisfies those requirements with most people undertaking through proctored test kits. Alas, as upstanding world citizens, antigen tests are not good enough for entry into Canada and we require a PCR test (among others that I will not go into here) and the requirement is 72 hours from time of departure as opposed to three days before date of entry into US.

Just wondering how and where Canadians returning home will be satisfying this requirement in BVI?

I think our very tentative schedule will have us in Leverick Bay on the Friday before our Sunday flight (our return flight to Canada departs at 7pm) which would mean that the earliest day we could get tested would be Thursday night at 7. doubt there would be any clinics open that late so assuming that we would need to get tested sometime on the Friday. What turn around times are the PCR test centers providing tests back? The Friday noon we are into 48 hours before our departure (leaving around noon on the Sunday and will need to provide proof of negative tests for entry into PR.

Also not travelling Until April May so everything could change for better or worse (hopefully better!)

When we were there in January we were able to get a PCR test at the hospital in Virgin Gorda. It is up above Spanish Town so you would have to take a taxi from Leverick. We made an appointment the day before, got tested and then got our results via email the next day. We did have to make sure that they would send us the results via email but that was back early on with testing. I think they automatically do it now but just a warning to double check. Appointments then were in the morning so you could do it Friday morning.

UnlceLuff, thanks for sharing what you've found. Unfortunately that link no longer contains a list of testing sites, but ides have some good info. Have you learned anything more about this since posting?

The poster that Jason posted was the same that was on the link I believe. We will to get tested on Virgin Gorda on the friday to ensure that we a) have enough time to get results to get on the plane and b) don't run out of time to get on the plane to Montreal! a tricky prospect that I do not think the Canadiangovernment appreciates or cares about - I wish they would just have the three calendar day rule like the USA instead of an firm 72 hours from time of departure flight into Canada. pain in the you know what!

We just did it in the spring. Booked via the BVI health site to get an exit test for 72h before we were leaving, showed up at the Pebbles hospital for the test (other locations were available),paid and received the results by email in ample time to fly to Canada. The BVI health folk made it easy.
Will do it again mid January as we are coming later in November to BVI. Can't wait. smile
