Here a fresh thread with only the officially released ferry schedules. Lots of churn and changes caused by the Port Authority changing schedules at the last minute.

The written document shows the schedule thru January.

The calendar format shows the ferry company assignment for November. No December or January assignments have been officially released.

Road Town departures: 7:30am, 11:30am, 2:30am
Charlotte Amalie departures: 9:00am, 2:30pm, 5:00pm

The BVI Port Authority announcement has been corrected to exclude West End. Please ignore the announcement info in the original post.

Is there an online reservation site that handles all ferries? I'll be arriving in STT on 12/3, leaving BVI for STT on 12/12.

No. You have to figure out which company is running on the day and time you want then you have to go to their website to buy your ticket. Less than ideal.

So, not much I can do until the December schedule is published, I take it.

NativeSon sent me this calendar this morning.

Note that the last time is wrong on that calendar. It will remain at 5:00 but the companies should be correct for each timeslot.

Quick question - I usually ferry from St. Thomas into West End however it's unclear as to whether that will be possible by mid January. Anyone have any insight on that? Also, if I end up having to go via RT, does the Fast Ferry have outdoor seating on the top level? It's hard to tell from the pics on their site. I'm unfortunately prone to motion sickness so outdoors is always my choice!

There are some protocol changes expected in December but not sure if the WE ferry dock will be a part of it.

There is now a ferry to West End. The 2:30 ferry from Charlotte Amalie will stop in West End for vaccinated passengers who wish to disembark.

Think its possible to make the 230 STT-West End ferry with a 1:45 flight arrival?

1:45 is probably too late the for the 2:30 ferry. If you're sitting up front with carry-on only, and your green QR code in hand it's possible but barely.

FYI - I've been told they gave up on the West End stop and all boats to to Road Town. Just not enough demand.

I'm looking for the latest ferry schedules from Tortola over to Anegada. I see the A Express goes Thurs, Sat, Sun - that works fine in one direction for us (outbound on Thurs) but I need a Monday return to Tola. I thought RTFF and Smiths were doing trips over but I'm not finding a schedule for them. Your input is much appreciated as always!

You are correct. Thursday, Saturday, Sunday is Anegada Express from Trellis Bay. Monday, Wednesday, Friday is Smith's/RTFF (they alternate every other week) from Road Town. The Smith/RTFF boat leaves Anegada around 8:30am and 5:30pm.

The Port Authority has not released the official schedule but generally, this will be correct. If you have time to wait, I'd wait for the Port Authority version.

That will be close. But if not checking bags you should be okay.

If the ferry is late, and you aren’t first off it is going to be almost impossible. Especially on the weekend.

I have the same sort of question. We fly home on Sat. the 12th. I was looking at the 11:30 ferry to ST. Thomas and a flight home at 3:40. Wondering what everyones thoughts are on that timing. 1 extra hour

Get the earlier ferry..slim/no chance of making your flight on the 11.30..a friend of mine missed her 3.30 flight on the 11.30 ferry...

Do you know what day of week your friend was travelling? I would think that making the 2:30pm flight would be tight, but doable on a Tue/Wed/Thur from the 11:30-12:30 ferry. Or not?

No problem at all for those time frames on any day.

OK..this is my thinking having done this trip since 1984. Build yourself a cushion of 4 to 5 hours..get the earliest ferry. Take a cab to The Emerald Beach Resort. Have a nice breakfast/early lunch..maybe a couple of beers in the great beach bar with ( probably ) Tyler your friendly barkeep. Then you are a mile from the airport..walkable with a rollaboard. A nice relaxing way to end your trip rather that sweating if the ferry leaves late ( it left 1 hour and 20 mins late the other day) and if you get hung up at C and I. Others may disagree but my frfend missed her flight the other day cutting it too fine..

I agree with you about taking your time. It’s takes the stress off if you can build a pad. The current issue is it’s near impossible to turn a charterboat in and make the 7:30 ferry. The 11:30 is to late for many flights. I really wish they would bring back the 10 AM!

I am landing in STT at 1 pm (American airlines) on 12th April. Will I be able to connect the ferry at 2.30 pm which leaves from Charlotte Amalie to Tortola?
If I miss the flight due to delays, can i still get a seat in the next ferry which leaves at 5.30 pm?

If your flight is on time, you should be able to.make the 2:30pm ferry. Even better if you only have carry-on, just go outside of airport and catch taxi to ferry.

One more ferry question. We are thinking about the 11:30 ferry from RT to Charlotte Amalie on Saturday 4/23. We have a 3:15 flight. I know Saturday afternoon is busy. I’d rather not take the 7:30 ferry from RT. Thoughts?

Using what I would think are best scenario times; Here is a possible timeline:

11:30 am - 12:30 pm travel from RT to CA
12:30 pm - 1:15 pm clear USVI Customs & Border Protection at Blyden Ferry Terminal
1:15 pm - 1:30 pm taxi to airport
1:30 pm - 2:00 pm clear US Customs & Border Protection
2:00 pm - 2:15 pm check in with airline / check bags
2:15 pm - 2:30 pm clear airport security
2:30 pm - 2:45 pm make way to gate, board

The reason I went through this exercise is to allow you to see the steps involved, and times. Obviously, if you have no bags to check or have Global Entry, or use a porter to assist you at airport, you can save time. If the ferry is not full, or you can be first off with your bags, you can save time there.

Further, as you stated, and I agree, Saturdays can be very busy. All of these times can be longer than those shown here when it is busy.

Also, the assumption is that the ferry runs on time : 85% on time is my guess. Weather can be a negative factor.

Does your airline require you at gate a certain amount of time before departure time?

Lastly, does your airline run another flight that day after your original flight on which you could go stand-by in case you miss your original flight? Otherwise you will have to stay overnight and start over the next day if you miss the flight.

I have Global Entry, Left today, no checked bags Arrival at Airport to butt in seat in terminal less than 10 minutes. Loving that.

No, not as of yet.

I traveled to the US last Saturday on the new ferry.
Nice customer service, left on 9:09AM, so pretty much on time.
Cleared customs in St John, after waiting a bit for multiple water taxis to free up the dock for the ferry.
Arrived in Red Hook at 11:10AM, hopped in a shared taxi van, $15/per person to arrive at the airport at 11:40AM.

I would like to add to my previous post that I have seen at least 2 separate times recently, that AquaticVi Rentals has canceled (and refunded) their trips.
One time they canceled all trips for several days without any clear reason.
Even though they refunded people, if they cancel within a day or a couple days ahead of your trip it may be very difficult to find an equally priced alternative....

I check for a guest last week and the boats are down with maintenance issues. Probably delayed by parts as many people are.

Aquatic canceled on my wife& I at 6pm may 19 for a 9am ferry on May 20. Fortunately Native Son had room though that 6am ferry to Trellis was inconvenient to say the least

Right now Aquatic’s online booking form shows June 18 as the next available date, so presumably that’s their current target for when they’ll be back in service.

Now Aquatic’s online booking page shows their 9:00 RT to Red Hook service is running as of tomorrow morning. Can anyone confirm that?

If so I am thinking of calculating in a VIJ flight instead of EIS, Will need to maybe also think of a ferry into Road Town from Spanish town but wondering if the trip from their to the airport is slow and costly? Currently, ferries from Charlotte Amalie run direct to Road Town. Only ferries from Red Hook stop at West End.
