I have a friend on island this week who claims the air is so clear he can see St Kitts from the top of the hill by Little Bay, is that possible?

Kitts is 50+ miles away and best I remember no huge mountains. Besides the close ones even Statia is closer, just seems improbable but what do I know?

Yes, I've been seeing St. Kitts front La Vista Beach all week.

While we were there on a few occasions we saw Saba, Statia, St.Kitts and from one angle in particular we thought we were seeing Nevis.

Brimstone Hill and the Fort at Brimstone Hill are the high points of St. Kitts and if I remember correctly, and we could see St. Martin from there. Vaguely but you could see itβ€¦β€¦πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

Respectfully,

One year we were staying in one of the Pelican Cove condos, right at the end of Billy Folly Road, with an unobstructed view to the south. Most of the time we could see Saba, but on a couple of particularly clear days we also got to see Statia and St. Kitts from the terrace. It was even better with the binoculars. Very cool experience!

One of the pleasures of getting to know St. Martin / St. Maarten is going from beach to beach and greeting old friends offshore: Saba, Statia, St. Kitts, St. Barts, Tintamarre, Anguilla -- and all the smaller ones, too, like Caye Verte and Ile Pinel.

I thought St. Kitts was behind Nevis and you could not see it directly. True? About 4-5 years ago weather was so clear that I could just make out Antigua to the left of Nevis from LaVista. About midway between Nevis and the tip of Pelican Key.

Just the opposite........... I would think St Eustatius would be more visible than St Kitts????

See the attached map. Viewed from St. Maarten, St. Kitts is obvious -- but Nevis is tucked behind St. Kitts. On images from Google maps, "Gustavia" indicates St. Barts, "The Bottom" indicates Saba, "Oranjestad" indicates Statia, and "Charlestown" indicates Nevis. (Google maps seems to think that people are more interested in the names of towns than the names of islands.)

I believe that Oranjestad is St Eustutius.

Yesterday I could see all four islands, including Nevis, from my balcony at La Vista Beach.

There were days when we could see them all, too, but occasionally the anchored cruise ship and/or working boats would sometimes swing on their anchors and block the different islands momentarily, particularly Saba. Though not so much the other near islands.

Georgia, are you able to see St. Barts from where you are?

Respectfully,

pat

Many times in May while on the water our dive master would point out all the above mentioned islands to us from Simpson Bay Resort Marina.
