Totally agree about Marche..had a lovely dinner there with hot sake while waiting for my family at the airport. I only put up with a bad experience once..plenty of places here and in California that want my $$$. Scrub is another of my least favorite places too.To me it deserves its name!.

Saba has not been the same since Bert made me my first Bushwacker in 1981.

We visited last week. We visited Saba for drinks, dinner at Bitter End and dinner at North Sound Bistro. Half our crew had never been to the BVI so they had no expectations (although it was clear they were surprised at the excessive wait times). I didn't mention any positive or negative comments to them in advance but when we were at Saba our other Dad asked me why every worker at the resort is grumpy and indifferent to him? He said it seems like they hate their job and the customers. We had a short visit. Too bad, because the place is beautiful.

Bitter End was really nice. Pretty good service. There's a manager type from CT who is hustling and trying to make sure everything is going smoothly. The place is pretty cool - albeit a lot smaller than I recall the prior version. The food was good and service very acceptable.

North Sound Bistro was really nice looking. We had a private room which was cool. We made reservations the same day for 9 of us. The service was struggling a bit. It took us 2 hours from the time we got there to get food. It was at least 30 minutes to get drinks (challenging with 5 kids under the age of 15). The food was good but we were worn out by the end of the night. It just took a long time.

Sorry your experience was poor. North Sound is great place and needs to reflect that with good (at least descent) service. Hopefully change of management will be beneficial.

We went back to Saba last week. Asked for whatever beer they had for happy hour. Served Carib for 6:50 each.

Wes - agree on North Sound Bistro. There were some good moments there and I think they will work it out.

As an aside, we were driving across Tortola and we saw your boat in the marina as we drove by. My wife and 3 brothers went to Clemson so we were excited to see your boat. Someday we would like to charter it.

We were there a few days ago, including dinner and found the service very much improved compared to last November.

We stopped at Saba a couple days ago for the "fish feeding" and a drink. The upstairs bar with closed. The downstairs bar/restaurant was bustling but service was good. We also stopped by BEYC the next day and had a nice time and cheery service at the bar.

(Side note: We enjoyed a mooring ball right next to "Lio Kai" ..... I should have stopped by to say hello, MrEzgoin, but I did not remember the name of your boat at the time.)

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris, I remember seeing Abby Normal too and the name was familiar (Frankensteen!), but didn't remember from where. Beautiful boat!
