SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!! You'll pay for the whole seat but only need the edge!! (Long time running joke from monster truck rally commercials)
Woke up and my body let me know to not take a walk and the other excuse was that we were headed to Coco Beach for brunch, so no need to go get pastries. Relaxing morning poolside. Laid in the sun for a bit, cleaned up the house a little. Coffee for the adults and if I ever needed a reason to doubt that the Irish Cannonball was my son, he was eating a slice of cold curry shrimp pizza to hold him over until we got to Coco.

We geared up and strolled down to Coco for the morning. Asked for 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas, they asked if we had a reservation. Uhhhhhhh no?? Luckily there was a couple sets left and we lucked out with a second row. Little more costly than other but they are comfy and the service is great. 20 euro per chair but it comes with a towel and a water. Dropped our gear at the chairs and went up for our brunch. If you haven't noticed yet we love food, and this brunch was amazing. The Irish Cannonball opted for their breakfast milkshake & 2 scrambled w/ bacon. The missus went for the brioche style french toast, a coffee & mimosa. Andie ordered the La Tartine De La Mer (Lentil hummus, scrambled eggs & homemade salmon gravlax on toast), a coffee & mimosa. And I opted for the Omelette Du Chef (Truffled Ham omelette) w/ the Coco Cafe (Licor 43, coconut puree, expresso) which to my pleasant surprised was an iced coffee drink!! I'm not sure full sentences were uttered while we were having breakfast, just a lot of head nods and guttural sounds of culinary joy. Well worth the money for that meal.

Lugged our satiated souls back to the chairs to lounge and digest. Ordered a round of cocktails to help the day start. A 'ti punch for me, a Jamaican spritz for Andie, soda for the boy and a prosecco for the missus. While resting we noticed how massive the surf was in front of us. Big swells yesterday. People were getting tossed around hard. Lotta boogie boarding going on also. Always fun to watch. The beach peddlers were out in droves yesterday morning. The missus opted for a fresh coconut that got the island treatment with the obligatory dosing of rum in it, and one of the nice ladies she had met the days previous came back and gave her a leg massage. Needless to say the missus wasn't having a bad morning.

During the massage the Cannonball & I decided on a walk down to Chez Leandra for some fried conch, left the ladies to rest and soak up the rays, and enjoyed our alone time.
We ran into the other members of the family, J&T, at Wai Plage. Chatted with them for a few. Grabbed the order of conch, a carib and a coke. The boy and I chatted the time away and strolled back. The real point of the walk was for me to debate where to rent a Jet Ski to take him out for a bit. We opted for Bikini Watersports. Grabbed the missus so she could snap the obligatory photos and take my wallet back. We did a half hour out on the water. He had never been and had been looking forward to it. Very choppy out there yesterday, very choppy. But we survived and he loved every minute of it.

Made our way back to Coco, grabbed the ladies and decided to grab a snack on our way back to the villa at Bikini. Things at Coco were starting to escalate with a group who were getting a little messy. No judgement on my part, just been around enough to know when to make an exit before things get sloppy and awkward. Popped into Bikini, the missus always loved it there on our previous trips, so this was a must for her. Started the order off with a negroni for me, pornstar martinis for the ladies, a bacon cheese burger and a coke for the Cannonball. The 3 adults (loosely using this term) opted for the mixed app plate which consisted of chicken spring rolls, sweet potato fries, calamari, and accras. All very delicious. We collectively agreed that it was pool time at the villa and headed back.

The evening wrapped up with the usual. Cocktails, charcuterie, cannolis and macarons. Laughs and swims. Light plans were made for Monday, J&T will be checking outta Palm Court and heading to spend the rest of the week with us at the villa. So we navigated how some we may have to re-arrange things for a day or 2 as Andie has to head home on Tuesday. Rumors of making it to Pinel for Monday for the promise of grilled lobster for the Cannonball. Life is pretty tough at 12. Thanks everyone for all the kind responses to these posts and the messages. It's something I do enjoy and it helps to keep track of what we did as memories fade quick.

Sounds like another great family day! Sunday is when most locals go to the beach, so that's why they asked you about reservations, as it is usually very crowded.

Funny thing Carol, I knew that in the back of my head that Sunday was the local day but somehow my brain is fried. A lot of my pre-planning for the trip has gone into the ether since we got here.

Nice day but that's a lot of food intake for me. Keep walking to burn it off.

Really enjoying reading your posts and admiring your pics! You paint a wonderful picture of all the places we love to visit. Really interested on your overall opinion of your villa. It is high on our list for our next visit. Hope you all continue a great trip, and your “cannonball” enjoys his lobster on Pinel

We always make reservations at Coco, no matter what day. It's not always necessary, but we feel like we get better service. And trust me, they remember us from the time before.
