What is the opinion on coolers at the beach? I understand the protocol regarding certain establishments, etc. However, which beaches don't frown on coolers and do many people bring them? TY

We always take a cooler to beaches like Mullet, Orient and Pinel. If I'm paying for chairs I bring my cooler with drinks and sometimes food or snacks. Have never been questioned.

I agree Scuba. A friend that has never been to the island told me "I'm not going to be THAT guy bringing a cooler." Seriously? I don't understand. Half the fun going to the beach (for us) is eating snacks and drinking all day. For meals, of course we buy at one of the nearby restaurants. But I'm talking, fruit, cheese and crackers, chips, etc.......

Same here Scuba. We always bring a cooler to Club O beach with drinks and snacks. We get chairs from Cedric and get lunch from the Perch. Always a great time.

There is a sign at Anse Marcel specifically saying coolers are not allowed.

But we bring a cooler there with only water and a few nuts and crackers. We also have reservations to eat there too. When we tell them what's in the cooler we always get the go ahead for cooler.

I’m not a big fan of coolers at beach bars. Especially at at place like El Zafiro which doesn’t charge for their chairs.

Tim--I agree with you, if chairs are free, I don't bring a cooler. I would personally never bring a cooler to a place like AMBC either, as it doesn't seem that kind of place, to me. We always take a cooler to Mullet and to Orient, if we're going to Orient for the day, versus just for lunch. Although almost everywhere I go, I take a bottle of water, which either stays in the car or goes with me, depending on the venue.
