Ocean 82 is definitely worth a visit. We were there Friday night for our farewell to SXM dinner and enjoyed every moment of it: table right on the water, excellent food & presentation, and perfect service.
Our check with a bottle of Provence Rose was $140 for 2, which is very reasonable for a dinner of this quality in Grand Case.
Thanks for the tip and we'll certainly go back next year.

Agre e 100%.we were there on a Tuesday night during Grand Case nights . We had a reservation it was honored sat outside and proceeded to eat an outstanding meal. The server was very attentive one of the people we were dining with has gluten issues, was offered a gluten free menu and even had gluten free bread. Ihad a lamb shank that was prepared perfectly
will definitely be going back

We shared a mahi-mahi tartar trilogy as appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. My SO had the roasted mahi-mahi with mango chutney and I had the fish & lobster pot with creamy lemongrass broth. Both were extremely flavorful. No dessert for me (I was full); she had the ginger creme brulee and it was perfect.

So glad you enjoyed it. It's kind of our favorite in Grand Case now..

Same here.
Sol & Luna in Mt Vernon is also one of our favorites but being right on the water @ Ocean 82 is a big plus.

I believe Sol E Luna is quite a bit more expensive also though.

It is not surprising since it is owned by the two brothers who own and operate Bistrot Caraibes, which is just across the street. Both are really good restaurants.

Yes, Bistrot is one of our long time favorites and I do love Thibault and Amaury! The view at Ocean 82 is nice though..

Actually, Ocean 82 is owned by Amary and Thibault of Bistrot Caraibes, and Pascal of Auberge Gourmande. I believe that the Ocean 82 manager, (Roman?, formerly of Ti Provençal) also has an ownership interest.

I believe that Amary, Thibault and Pascal also just purchased one of the nearby Grand Case waterfront restaurants, but I can't recall which one.

They are all excellent businessmen and restauranteurs so this bodes well for the Grand Case restaurant scene.

Ocean 82, did that location used to be Le California?

Yes, used to be Fish Pot, directly across from Bistrot Cariabes.

I knew there were other owners there and had a mental block about who it is. Hadn't heard that about them purchasing another restaurant. Would be interested to hear which other restaurant they have purchased, if true.

We also loved Ocean 82. We had a table right on the water and the food and service were excellent! Some people here say that dining on the water is not that important since it is dark, but I still think it is very romantic. The sound of the waves lapping gently on the shore and the twinkling lights of Anguilla in the distance provides a lovely ambience for a super dining experience.

For years, I never found any restaurant that was worth the extra coin to be on the water, which those restaurants are more expensive, for sure. Ocean 82 is the first one I have found to be worth it.

Carol, they purchased Le Tastevin right next door and will be taking over after the high season is completed.

Yes it is but the difference is much smaller when comparing apples to apples.
$230 for 2 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 main courses, 2 desserts and 1 bottle of wine at Sol & Luna, vs $140 for no cocktails, 1 shared appetizer, 2 main courses, 1 dessert and 1 bottle of wine at Ocean 82.
Both deliver a great dining experience.

I had that Seafood Pot with Lemongrass Broth as well, it was divine! Hands down, my favorite meal of our 2 week trip last month.

We like to eat dinner later, but I noticed Ocean 82 is open around 11:30. I'm sure we'd appreciate the view more in the day. Do they offer a lunch menu? and do you need reservations for lunch, or could we choose to go based on the day/weather?

There aren't a lot of the high end restaurants in GC that are open for lunch, so you might think about making a reservation. As far as a specific lunch menu, I don't know, never eaten lunch there. If not, you could always do maybe a soup and an appetizer or something.

I think they bought Le Tastevin. But I thought it was Pascal from Piazza Pascal?
