Hi, I used the search function but was unable to come up with anything related to Packing Light Vacation Rentals http://www.sxm-services.com/packlight/. We have rented a villa in the Pelican Key area and would like to rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the week and this seems like a good option for us since we are the self catering type. Does anyone have any experience with them or know of another business that rents items like this for the week?

We used them briefly last April and found them to be great to work with. The prices were reasonable, they were totally accommodating and if I needed these services in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Craig does a great job. It's Pack Light, not "packing", by the way. He will arrange to meet you somewhere that is convenient, either at the airport, or your hotel, etc. I generally rent an umbrella (only) for my stays at Beachside Villas, since they don't have umbrellas there, and usually rent a small cooler that I use as a beachside table. With regard to his chairs, be advised that most of them are "sand" chairs, pretty low to the ground, and not comfortable for an old geezer like me. I think he has a few 'regular' folding beach chairs, but if you do not specify, you will get a sand chair. He's very reliable, prompt, and a nice guy!

Highly recommended, reliable and affordable service. Used for many years.
There is no place like SXM.

Check with your villa first, chances are you may not need to rent as many villas include chairs, umbrellas and coolers. At least the one we stayed in. Cupecoy Beach club, and several I inquired about

We rented chairs and an umbrella for 3 weeks from Pack Light last year and were very satisfied. Craig showed up at our place right on time for the delivery, and was on time again when he came by to pick up the items that we had rented. We rented the medium height beach chairs, which aren't as low as sand chairs, and they were very comfortable and are easy to get out of if anyone has mobility problems. All of the umbrellas are 6' and easily shade 2 chairs. We just booked chairs and an umbrella again through the web site for an upcoming trip, and Craig got back to us promptly with a confirmation and a drop off time. Couldn't be easier.

We've never done this, and probably wouldn't, so my question is just a curiosity one. Do you leave them in the trunk of your car? Since the rule is never to leave anything, I just wondered.

We had a car stolen with Pack Light rental chairs in the trunk. When the car was recovered the chairs were still in the trunk and we were able to return them to Craig.

Thanks! As I said, I was just curious. I guess beach chairs don't have much value on the resale market, lol.
