Unbelievable devastation. At first I thought that was the Celine II, but I saw that it wasn't. I hope it made it. Capt Neal doesn't need more bad luck!

Yes, I was surprised how many buildings still had roofs. Now I guess starts another 3 years cleanup/ rebuilding process. And to see which ones do rebuild.

That was sickening. I can't even imagine. So much destruction. Where do you even start - other than with excavators clearing yachts off the roads.

Thanks to the photographer for posting.

Haven't been to sxm in years. Hard to look at these pictures through the tears in my eyes. Stay safe.

Thank you for sharing the link - we are also surprised by the places that still have roofs. If anyone sees pictures from Beachside Villas, El Zafiro, Pizza Galley and Buccaneer would like to see if they held up and the extent of the damage. Prayers continued for all those in St. Maarten.

Thanks...Cathy

Looks like the camera lens picked up what appears to be looters in the act as well (near the ACE). I'm assuming the urge to grab something is very high......with the reasoning that someone else is going to take it if you don't so you might as well get a piece of the pie.

Looters everywhere.
Horrible. Waiting for Irma here in Miami.

You still up. Wish you would get in the car and drive to CT or NYC!

Re: looting, that is as heartbreaking as the damage. Events like these bring out the best in people, and sadly, also the worst.

I found this on FB and shared. See if you folks can open it. It's a video of the storm surge coming into the Pinel Ferry embarkation area. The interesting thing is that it was originally posted at 6:21pm on Tuesday.
