They are trying to prepare for what might be heading their way so I think they are not around right now. I know it has been frustrating with the board being slow as we experience it also. This has been a devastating hit for the island and possibly for FL also.

They connect us to the islands in good times and bad. Thank you for your years of dedication Eric and Carol from a long time member. We all wish you the best as you experience the storm yourselves - be safe. I've been quite inactive for years but TTOL was here with information just when I needed it.

Godspeed to our beloved islands and residents - they have a tremendous challenge ahead of them and will need our support.

Thank you so much Carol & Eric...for making this place where we can come to find information regarding our beloved island....in times of happiness and vacation, but especially in this time of challenge and devastation.

Without this site I would feel cut off from what is happening. I hope you will stay safe in Florida, and that this site is able to remain up through the witch that Irma is.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. We are inland, and no big bodies of water here, so we think we should be ok, other than we expect that we may be out of power for a while.

My thoughts this evening are for our beloved island, those who live there and those who love her. My heart aches this evening..

Thank you Carol and Eric - I don't post much but I'd just like to echo my appreciation to you both. I have learned so much over the years about my "second home" from this site, and like you my heart aches for the people and all of the wonderful places that make up St. Maarten/St. Martin. She will come back - perhaps not exactly as we remember, but it will happen. Stay safe in FL until this awful storm finally goes away.

Carol and Eric, I also want to thank you and all moderators for keeping us connected with our beloved island. Very hard to comprehend the extend of the damage. Feeling helpless and hoping that strong people of SXM will rebuild and prosper.

And we echo the thoughts of others, please stay safe. We know it may be a while if power goes out but please let us all know you are ok.
