Delta Flights through Atlanta???

Delta Flights through Atlanta??? - 11/03/2017 02:09 PM

Here we go again??? Does anyone know what's going on with Delta flights going through ATL? We had to cancel our flights with American because of schedule changes and misconnects. Know I'm wondering if Delta is doing the same thing. We have an existing flight scheduled to depart in mid February but did a check on flights to see what the cost was this morning. Getting an error message stating that there aren't enough seats available to complete my reservation. Not a good sign. I did check on my existing reservation and it hasn't been canceled as of yet, but when I went into the change seats option, I see that there are still seats available. Not a good sign. I have a call in to Delta and they are scheduled to call me back within 35 minutes...didn't want to wait on hold that long. Another bad sign. Has anybody else with reservations during this time frame heard if they are canceling flights for a certain period of time? I will let everyone know when I receive a call back.

Possibly you hit the website at a time they were doing updates to schedules, prices, etc. It seems with Delta their site is not always accurate when it comes to seats and availability. Do let us know what you find out.

BTW, the call back option is much better than sitting on hold.

I booked Delta flights YYZ>ATL>SXM for mid Feb on Wednesday night with no problem. They may be getting filled up by Canadians like us who have no other reasonable way to get there. Air Canada, Westjet, Air Transat, and I *think* Sunwing have all cancelled everything due to a lack of accommodations.

When searching prices via Kayak, it gives you delta flight schedules but no prices, whereas American has prices.

Been that way for there days including just now today. I'm wondering if they have doubts about their load factor/ schedule.

Just got off the phone with a lady who was very hard to understand. She said that the flight was still going but no seats are available. I don't believe this is the case because when I go into my current reservation it still shows seats available. Also when I try to do a search for other dates through the end of March, it show nothing is available. But when I go into April, I see that fares are available for purchase. I do believe that something is going on but they haven't actually posted it yet. I have also checked all of the other sites like Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity and they don't even list the Delta flight, only American flights. I will let everyone know if I hear anything further. If anyone else hears anything, I would appreciate it if you would post it here. Thank you!

I see on their website that they are saying flights impacted for travel through April 2, 2018. I too was looking for flights for Feb, on Wednesday (11/1) they showed flights, on Thursday when I went to book, I was not able to. Not sure what is going on...

I spoke to another agent who said that there just aren't many seats available. I find that hard to believe because when I checked yesterday there were many seats available. If you are interested in booking a flight I would call reservations directly to see if there are seats still available for the time frame you are looking for. Please let us know if you do and if you're successful. Good Luck!

I just checked on Google Flights for our dates 2/15-2/24. It does show flights but it shows 2 stops instead of 1 through Atlanta. It shows MKE to ATL to SJU. There's an overnight in SJU then on to SXM the next day. I sincerely hope this is not what's going on here. I just went through this with American and had to cancel. I guess time will tell. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

I just checked our Delta flights 2/8 to 2/28 our flights are the same but it does look like the seats are all taken on the down flight a few first class open on the way back. Way different than the last time I looked, a lot of seats open then.

If you get an agent that is hard to understand first ask if they are a US based agent. If they say no, ask for a US agent. If they say yes then ask for a supervisor and tell the supervisor that the agent was too difficult to understand.
