It just shows having a negative result days ahead is no guarantee you don't contact or develop the virus before arrival. Important to stay vigil while on St Maarten even though you tested negative to get there and are feeling all tourists are safe to be around too.

Very true. Either that, or it was a false positive. Either way, pretty much a nightmare for the tourists involved.

With almost no labs publicizing their PCR Cycle Threshold, this problem will continue. For the tests to be comparable, they must read a positive at the same Cycle Threshold.

The story mentions they are isolated at approved locations. Does anyone have information on where that would be in Anguilla or St. Martin? I'm researching travel insurance that includes coverage for quarantine expenses, but it's hard to make decisions without knowing more about where someone would be quarantined and how they'd be expected to pay for it.

Anguilla has a list of approved properties that have been certified for quarantine. You would choose from these properties, and you would pay. But, you have to be approved before you can go, then you have to be in Q for 14 days. Most people do not want to spend two weeks in Q.
The properties are listed along with the Q fees and protocol on the following site:
