EHAS turnaround time and testing questions

EHAS turnaround time and testing questions - 03/26/2021 03:47 PM

Just curious what the current turnaround time is for EHAS approval once the form has been submitted? Any obscure
questions that might trip us up? What kind of fees are collected and how much? Are test results attached as a pdf
or jpeg...or other?

Have we reached a consensus on the best place to be tested on the island regarding price and turnaround time?
Anyone know how much the testing is at Hope Estates and other sites? Do we need to print the results and show
airport officials in paper form or is email okay?

I'm sure these have all been discussed before...so thanks in advance for your patience and help.

Don't know the answers to all of your questions, but will give it a whirl on some of them. First, you should sit down and read the official site, through and through and make sure you understand the testing requirements. LINK

Apparently the biggest problem that people have is filling things out wrong. Make sure you read the questions a couple of times and double-check your answers before you submit them. Your test results do have to be in a PDF for sure, as people have reported being denied because of submitting them in JPEG. You have to pay $30 PP for the stupid required insurance from SXM. Some people have reported having a problem with submitting the form for two people with the same email address, so make sure you use two different email addresses. If you have problems getting the permission, and it has been over about 12 hours, make sure everything you submitted is correct, and possibly re-submit, as apparently it shouldn't take over about 12-18 hours max for the approval. If all else fails, you can try to call the number on island, which is 721-542-1570

As far as places to get tested on island, again, take a look at the official SXM site
Link
It lists places available on island to get the tests done, although the list is not a total list of what is available. Regarding the tests in Hope Estate, please do a SEARCH here, putting those two words in quotes, to get info on that. Apparently they will also be doing testing at PJIA, but other than the cost, which is more than other places, there is not a lot of info available on that yet. I GUESS the concept will be to have people be able to do it on the day of their flight, but as I said, not much info there yet. It is not listed on the official site yet either.

Submitted my test results on March 18 for March 20 departure. An antigen test. I received my approval in 15 mins. My wife was denied 15 mins later. Wrote email on the contact us page of EHAS. Stating my wife had the same test, same result submitted 10 mins after mine. She was approved 10 mins later. It sometimes depends who is reviewing the submission. Ours did not have the brand name of the test, but I was approved and she wasn’t. Good luck. If denied write the email. They rarely answer the phone.

We had same issues. I was approved and David was denied both at different times of the day and both in 10 minute timeframe. Prescipktive (spelled that way) did not provide enough detail. It was a nightmare trying to reach them to get the info in a document with details they promised via email initially they would provide and didn't. They made appointments via text only and provided the details same way. No email, no website and no 800 number where the person I spoke to wasn't useless. Emailed them and 18 hours later finally received documents.

And yes, we sent separate emails under each of our addresses. I screen shot what they initially sent and saved as a pdf. I was accepted but David wasn't.

We're here so it all worked out finally.

Re: EHAS turnaround time and testing questions - 03/27/2021 12:45 PM

Our EHAS turnaround time was less than one hour. We printed hard copies to show to American Airlines for boarding and again to SXM authorities who inspected our approvals prior to moving to Immigration. We were flying midweek on a half empty plane so we zipped right through the process faster than we ever have in 29 years. For our return we were tested at Simpson Bay Resort at Guest Services for $70 each and our results were available in hardcopy at the front desk that evening. American Airlines inspected our negative test results before allowing us to check in. US Immigration didn’t ask for it. In hindsight it was all pretty easy but we did find the wait for our US tests to download to the SXM system stressful. I’d gladly do it again. We felt “normal” once we hit the beach!

Hi everyone! Went to a drive thru, do it yourself COVID testing place on Tuesday-simple swab for 15 second in each nostril (not the super high up kind!), got tests results back last night around 7, uploaded into ehas and had approval by 10:45 last night. I hope this helps!

TravelReady...thanks for the info. Did you take the rapid antigen test or the PCR test? Was the testing place a state/county run site or other?

Re: EHAS turnaround time and testing questions - 04/01/2021 05:22 PM

I took the PCR test-it's a collection site callled Caring Wellness that sends the samples to a lab in NJ and then the lab emails you the results so not state or county run at all

Sounds like they sent your test to a lab by local courier and it got delivered same day. Our pharmacy sends out via FedX next day which adds another day to the equation....IF it gets there on time.

They collect and send at 5:30 each evening overnight. The lab runs the tests and guarantees results within 48 hours. I am quite impressed with it!

Okay, I misread your post to say that you received your result that same night. You took the test on a Tuesday and got results on Wednesday. Hope we get that lucky!

Thanks again....and have a blast!!

Re: EHAS turnaround time and testing questions - 04/01/2021 09:17 PM

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question....on the EHAS form it asks, “Have you been tested for COVID in the past.” Yes or No. Obviously you’ve been tested to submit this form, but is it asking if you were tested previously to this current test?

How did those of you who have gotten approval respond to the question?
