Anyone know why there is a school bus on a flatbed with a crane nearby on the runway?

There is an emergency exercise this morning at the airport. Nothing to be worried about.

It's pelting down rain this morning. Glad I'm not waiting for a flight!

Thanks Carol, couldn't figure out why. They picked a really crappie day for this exercise.

Just luck of the draw, for bad weather. They have to schedule all the people to be there for it ahead of time.

Watching live now, all of the fire trucks and emergency crews have arrived.

Looks like a pretty drippy day, on the Maho cam.

Lake Mullet now has 4 or 5 lakes, and they're as deep as they get.

We came in on the 2nd around 11:30, and missed everything.
It was a little bumpy coming into sxm and a lot of huge puddles, when
we arrived. The water hasn't drained on White Sands.

I went to a function at El Z on Tuesday night and the puddles were horrendous. I wondered how those of you who stay at BSV can stand navigating that road. Don't think I could tolerate it.

Linda--it just depends on how much rain there is. There was a story in the DH the other day, that the residents of Beacon Hill are trying to resolve the situation themselves by paying to fix the road and somehow can't get permission to do so...

That is my only complaint staying in that location. One night I almost had to swim back to the villa! Not fun when travelling alone.

Which I was, and it was dark both going and coming. Not my cup of tea, for sure.
