Tuesday 4/26 (Day 6) - 04/27/2022 12:46 PM

Very lazy morning today. No walk just recouping from a crazy (in relative terms) Tuesday. Just made a pot of coffee to regroup the thoughts from yesterday while sitting on the patio. We knew Tuesday was kind of a wash with having to say good bye to Andie, so in anticipation of a trip to the airport we planned the day around not being at the beach.

Woke yesterday and did a half walk. Mostly towards the club o side. Had a walking partner in the morning. One of the village dogs decided to go with me. Best description of the dog is that they look like "Benji". May be dating myself with that description. On the way back I swung into Good Morning to grab some baked goods for the crew, there were hopes of the apricot croissants being there again. And they were!! Brought the haul home and busted out a spread for the morning at the pool. Slowly put our morning together and packed up the jeep to head to the airport.

Threw the Cannonball, the missus, andie and myself in the jeep, leaving J&T at the villa. We banked left outta the village and headed the long way to the airport. It was planned to go that way so the other 3 in the jeep could see that side of the island. The views are still gorgeous. Got into some traffic, planned for it with plenty of time. Got to see parts of the island we haven't seen in years. The cannonball got to experience a lot of life on the drive. Something that isn't quite the same as New England. Made it to the airport, parked the jeep so we could walk Andie over and say our good byes without hurrying. There was a lot of hugs and promises of coming back sooner than later!!

Jumped in the jeep and headed to Pburg for the next part of the day. Another great ride around with the views. It was super clear yesterday so the Cannonball got to see all the surrounding islands. Got into Pburg and parked behind the police station with no issues. Walked in to town and decided we didn't want to spend anymore time than needed there, cruise ship was in port. That was poor planning on my part. So we grabbed a quick bite at the Blue Bitch, nothing to report on as far as food, but the missus loved the Mango Mama cocktail. Popped into Caribbean Gems for the missus. Got outta there with the goods at a great price. Hopped back in the Jeep and boogied back to home base.

Got home. Got in the pool, got a cocktail and decompressed. Big board of Charcuterie for dinner. We are starting to feel the squeeze of the end coming and the fridge has too much in it. Time to try to start the emptying of the leftovers and groceries. We still have a couple days, just don't like to waste if not needed. Sat outside played some cribbage, listened to tunes and wrapped it up. Made some plans to get that grilled lobster on Pinel for Wednesday, with a possible stop in Grand Case for some Lolos. We will see.

We try to make one circumnavigation of the island each trip. It's good to visit places that aren't normally on your agenda. I am disappointed there were no pictures today though! smile Enjoy!

Carol, I just edited the post. Apparently the Cannonball was snapping pics as I was not!! Added some pics from a 12 year old perspective.

Your reports and pictures are fantastic!!
We are enjoying them all!

In Cannonball's pictures, could you tell me where the yellow umbrellas are?
The Saba shot is great! Not everyone gets to see it.

We just left a couple of weeks ago and are now living through your reports!

Scubaman--I think many parents do not want to post pictures of their kids on the internet.

Understandable but I did see the family shot in his avatar. No big deal. Was just wondering what prompted the nickname.

Lurker- the yellow umbrellas are on Front Street in Pburg. It was the view from the Blue Bitch Bar.

Scuba- It's all good man. The nickname is because he's a water bug and loves doing Cannonballs into the water and also when he was younger he would just run into me full tilt and almost knock me over, being that he's built like a tank. It was like being hit with a cannonball, it was just a running joke that stuck. The Irish part of it is his distinct red hair, that people in the family joked he would grow out of.

Good story. After that "Cannonball" seems an appropriate nickname. Hope he is enjoying himself and you too.
