Has anyone heard anything from anyone that stayed on Anegada?

I was wondering the same, HD. I haven't heard or seen anything anywhere about Anegada. I am very concerned about that island for obvious reasons. Hopefully someone will post something soon.

Recent FB post says all on Anegada are safe. Some damage but not as bad as VG. Hope this info holds true in tomorrow's light but looks cautiously hopeful for them

Because the eye was well south and the wind was parallel to the south shore there was very little surge on Anegada. If everyone sheltered in a sturdy structure they should be OK but I bet all the docks and weak structures along the south shore are gone again.

I am sure the light of day will bear this out. These were FB posts that were made by a man who had talked to his Father on Anegada and another person who had had some contact with a friend there.

I have a report from Anegada that says that the village (Settlement) was completely destroyed. American Village destroyed. I have heard nothing about anything from Setting Point or the north side.

Thanks Walker. As bad as it sounds, hopefully there were no serious injuries or fatalities. Videos and photos from the other islands are heartbreaking!

Walker, that's awful. I'm sure that everyone was as concerned as I was about Anegada given the elevation and lack of protection from the wind. I hope and pray that the north side fared better. Please keep updating as you receive them. Thoughts and prayers for all the wonderful souls on Anegada.

FYI, I spoke with Andrew from CWB by phone today. He, Anne, and Belle were in FL for Irma, so they are preparing for it there. But they are safe and okay. Just riding it out until they can regroup. Going to be a long time before Anegada is open for business with charter boats to get people there. frown
