Not making fun but the last pix I saw online of Pussers West End was that it was totally "open". Think you might mean Roadtown?

Yes, Pussers WE is open. They moved the bar in on the porch in front of the store and repaired the deck enough to set tables with umbrellas. The only question I have is will Lotta and the lady who has tended bar since forever will be there.

Re: So Far..... - 10/10/2017 01:40 PM

I notice the list is all restaurants. Has anybody heard any intel re: hotels? Moorings is telling us that our charter in Feb will be on (I've read elsewhere that they are planning to be open Dec 1).

My flight is booked (I'm assuming STT will be open by then as well) and I am in the islands the night before my charter so while i have a boat to sleep on for the week, i do need a room in advance of my charter.

Typically I grab a room at Treasure Isle or Village Cay but I'm hesitant to have them take a reservation from me when they are not open and then lose it if their scheduled re-opening doesn't happen as planned.

Re: So Far..... - 10/21/2017 05:23 PM

From Tortola..Jason is setting up a bar on the road before the WE ferry dock ( which is gone). There are several roadside bars set up in Carrot Bay. Nanny Cay has Gennaker's (thoguh lunch)and Peg Leg's open (after 2pm). Omar's De Best Cup is terrific for breakfast and lunch and open into the evening for cocktails. For us North Shore character Stout's Lookout has become the hangout. WiFi..cold drinks, DJ yesterday and a cheesburger that rivals the ones Gina used to make at "Nicoles" in Brewers Bay. Have not gone to town yet..but others have reported about places there. BTW Manuel Reef has a working laundromat!

Re: So Far..... - 10/23/2017 12:11 AM

Speaking of Brewer's Bay, does anyone know how the area is doing? Icis Villas, Nicole's Beach Bar, the Campground? Have seen nothing in print since hurricane - have gone there for years and plan to again.

Nicole's had some damage. The kitchen appears to be missing and some of the deck is damaged but the main part of the bar is still there. It was being cleaned up last weekend.

Re: Listing of those open for Business - 03/18/2018 04:12 PM

With the limited places open for dining right now its really frustrating when a place only serving the most basics waits for you to order and then says.."Oh we have no pizza"..( their mainstay) then serves up the worst Margarita I have ever had...and of course charges you for it ( dirty water and a splash of lime does not a Margarita make) No names mentioned but..Thank goodness we have " D Coal Pot", "Omars" and " Stouts Lookout " within easy striking distance of Apple Bay. That said..the beach bar at " The Sugar Mill" is coming along fast and will be much bigger and open all day and serving dinner..boy do we need that!

We were in Little Harbour a few weeks ago and Sydney's was dark and closed. The good news is that Bomba Challenger had been hauled off of their roof- she was lying in a rough state just offshore from Sydney's. We too had seen on several online sources that they were already open and not sure where the disconnect was. That same night, Abe's on the other side of Little Harbour was indeed open. We went to Little Harbour for Sydney's so hoping that the news is correct and that by now they are indeed open.

We did some pirating last week in the BVI's and made it up to Anegada. Monica wants everyone to know that the "Flash of Beauty" bar is open. We also hit Big Bamboo's and Cow Wreck as well. Awesome beach day, tons of fun. The beaches, bars, and people are amazing in Anegada......... (but the shallow reefs on the north side got pretty beat up by the hurricane). Overall this was one of the best sailing trips we have taken in the BVI's. Everyone was very appreciative, and went out of there way to make sure we had a good time. Also, the first hand stories we heard about everyone's individual account of the storm blew me away.

The BVI are coming back strong - Arrrrrrrrrrrrr

A new restaurant to Cane Garden Bay, Bananas, opened a couple of weeks ago. They are located across from the car park next to Myett's.

I have not tried it personally yet, but I have heard good reports. I will try dinner later this week if anyone has questions.

I haven't been there to ask in person, but I did see a FB reply that indicated the rooms were open. Last I heard they were going to have about 1/2 the room ready for July.

We have eaten at Maria’s, and our neighbors, whose house is uninhabitable, stayed there for a week. It’s fine. That’s where the insurance adjusters stayed, so the hotel had a good revenue stream. In fact, we’re making our fifth post-Irma trip in September, and we’ve decided to arrive after dark and stay at Maria’s instead of overnighting on San Juan.

Sorry if I missed something, but is Tony’s (Stanley’s) open next to Myetts? Or did that close as a result of the hurricanes?
Posted By: JasonHelmbrecht

Re: So Far..... - 07/06/2018 08:30 PM

Tony's is not open and if it does again, Tony will not be involved. He is building a new place in front of his house. On the road between Myett's and Bobby's.

Thanks.
So if the bldg is still there next to Myett’s, is the new Banana place next to Tony’s bldg? Or on the other side of Myett’s? Thanks, just trying to picture it...

Banana's is not on the beach. It is across the street from the Cruise ship bathrooms.

Tony's new place is also across the street from the beach but closer to Bobby's old supermarket.

I don't think it's been mentioned, but Sugarmill's new Beach Restaurant and Bar, TRAMONTI, is now open. It's beautiful and the food and service were fantastic last week!

Re: So Far..... - 12/14/2018 08:45 PM

Not sure if this counts as a business opening but it's handy for travelers to know the ATM in CGB is working again. Can't make any promises on how often it will have cash, but it did today.

It's located at the entrance to Pusser's at Myett's. The new sign for Pusser's went up today.

The ATM at Puss/Etts has been removed..sadly..nearest now is Nanny Cay or Road Town.
Posted By: Myett's

Re: So Far..... - 01/30/2019 09:16 PM

The newly refurbished and improved Pussers at Myett's in Cane Garden Bay is open daily for lunch and dinner. The menu includes lots of Myett's specialties like conch chowder, cracked conch, conch fritters, coconut crusted chicken tenders, BBQ ribs, chicken, lobster and much more along with some of Pussers specialties. Breakfast is in the works and we hope to be serving in the next few weeks along with a Sunday Brunch. There is live entertainment most days and new happy hour specials and menus will be in place by the 4th of Feb, just like it was before. The ATM is being relocated and should be back up as soon as Banco Popular gives us a new machine. And...you will meet some of Myett's employees there such as Ernestine, Jem, Jody, Mariella, Claudia, and Vishaal. There are now two gift shops on site. Pussers Company Store and Myett's Gift Shop. The business relationship between Pussers and Myett's has gone very well and we are working closely to welcome you back to experience the same great ambiance, food, and service. We still do weddings, birthdays, regattas, and special events. Dinner reservations are always a good idea. 495-9381. For hotel bookings email val@myetts.com The Beat Does Go On....Cheers!

Re: So Far..... - 02/03/2019 04:57 PM

When chartering with TMM at Road Reef Marina in Road Town, Sharky's Cantina, just steps from TMM, was a pretty good restaurant. It has been closed since Irma but when we were there in November crews were doing lots of work on the building. Does anyone know if Sharky's or perhaps another restaurant might try to reopen at that location?
Posted By: warren460

Re: So Far..... - 02/25/2019 12:02 AM

The restaurant should open very soon, if not already.

We are heading down next week. Has the restaurant next to TMM (was Sharky's Cantina) re-opened yet?

Re: So Far..... - 04/17/2019 02:46 PM

Howdy everyone, Trying to find a compiled list of open/closed places.
Head there in June.

Starting in St Thomas and heading to the Baths and working our way back.
Thoughts on good places to stop between point A and B? Is Peter island still completely shut down?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the little bar on the top of the hill at Marina Cay has reopened?
Posted By: stlmco

Re: So Far..... - 07/12/2019 01:20 AM

Nope. For now the store is operating out of the house at the top of the hill. Food and drink is available at a temporary facility on land at the base of the dock where the old Pussers store was located.

Re: So Far..... - 03/01/2020 03:14 PM

Good morning everyone. I just wanted to make everyone aware of the new Marina Village at Oil Nut Bay. We are located on Virgin Gorda in Deep Bay, just east of the North Sound. We just opened in April of 2019 and we have 11 mooring balls available which are all first come, first serve (but have yet to fill up completely once this year) as well as overnight dock space which can be reserved in advance.

Mooring and dock guests have access to all of our Marina Village facilities which include: the restaurant/bar 'Nova' serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a swimming pool, beach, a clothing boutique, market, coffee shop, game room and showers. The village is located right in the marina, steps from the docks or a short dinghy ride from the moorings in Deep Bay. You can view everything Marina Village here: https://www.oilnutbay.com/marina-village

If you are interested in seeing the broader Oil Nut Bay resort, Beach Club passes are available for purchase. The Beach Club can be seen here https://www.oilnutbay.com/the-beach-club and Resort Passes are $95/person for guests staying on the dock overnight and $125/person for all other guests. Advanced reservations are required for the resort pass and they are based upon availability

Finally, if your boat has a draft of 6 feet or under, I recommend taking the marked channel past Saba Rock and the Bitter End Yacht Club into Eustatia Sound. If you have any more questions feel free to respond here or email me directly at marina@oilnutbay.com

There is a new Facebook group site called DYC Yacht Owners & Friends - BVI, located at https://www.facebook.com/groups/534407134169181/?ref=bookmarks, and perhaps more DYC owners can become connected there, as well as here.
