The best one yet is a honeymoon couple who chartered a Moorings monohull out of Marigot bay St Lucia.
They were sailing south naked and the husband towed a line so he could be towed by the boat so he jumps in and is hanging on the line when a gust of wind hit the sails and he lost his grip.
He yelled to his wife who was so freaked out that she dove into the water to help her husband and the boat being on auto pilot just kept going.
Talk about luck, they floated from morning to almost dusk when a local fishing boat saw them and picked them up.
The boat was found aground on Puerto Rico’s south coast about 2 weeks later.
This happened around 2002 to 2003

Some people just shouldn't sail boats. Not enough common sense.
