Thanks!

I got a quote from Cape Air but the price was ridiculous.

did you get a quote for a private jet or their regular flights??? I have credit on cape Air for 2 RT to VG but now it will basically only cover 1 way.

Cape Air, InterCaribbean, Silver, and Air Sunshine have regularly scheduled flights (non charter).

It was a quote for private including 8 passengers. The total round trip was nearly $6kusd. That was for SJU to EIS and back again.

We used Island Birds many times from SJU and later, out of a private local airport, many times. It isn't a budget option but you get what you pay for, a seamless, quick transfer. It truly feels like the vacation starts when the ground crew meets you. And they have a cooler of icy cold beer in the plane.

You don't need private if you don't want to spend $6k. Intercaribbean is around $232 round trip.

The private side is a bit overrated. I have never taken more than 20 minutes to get through customs in SJU with checked bags. The real advantage of going private is a destination like Anegada with no scheduled service.

I like private if we have close to the right number to fill the plane as it is much less hassle and we can get out that afternoon on the boat. As Jason and George point out it is a lot more money but has head cat herder I find it is worth it in some cases.

Make sure your round trip fee quote includes the fee (I forget the name) that is built into other commercial ticket prices

We use Island Birds...

Am I the only person who had trouble getting Intercaribbean to respond to booking requests? At least for two trips, I called and emailed the, repeatedly and they didn’t respond so I gave up. Could it be that they don’t fly to VG?

We flew Island Birds out of the alternative airport in February. SJU upped fees to crazy levels, which is why they are offering a different option.

Is Intercaribbean dependable......how much time do we need to allow for a flight out of EIS to San Juan?
I need to match up ferry times from VG with flight departure times from Tortola.

Thanks!
