PR and St Thomas portal - fill out after getting test results?

PR and St Thomas portal - fill out after getting test results? - 07/21/2021 01:37 PM

Finally have a boat secured for our trip, unfortunately not ours though frown Now I'm dealing with the filling out of the portals for both PR and USVI. When I first tried this it looked like I needed to have test results (for where tests are required - PR for my son and St. Thomas for all of us) and I just wanted to confirm with those that did it - you do need test results in hand to complete the portal correct?

Thanks in advance! Trying to finally get this all squared away so I can relax. We get tested tonight so worst case I should be able to complete tomorrow!

For the USVI, you need test results in hand.

Thanks Rick! Can I just message you direct next time I have a question? You seem to have all the great answers! lol

Really wish they'd allow the creation of the account and filling out of info though and adding the results later. Such a pain doing this all last minute. I can't wait until travel gets back to normal!

Yep, it is a pain. I have been through it a half dozen times. But less of a pain than Antigua, Dominica, SVG, and Grenada! The earliest we could schedule a departure COVID test on Dominica was two weeks out.

Use a single email for all the people you enter so that the approvals aren't all over the place. It is a pretty straightforward process, as long as your COVID test results have a CLIA number and state the type of test performed.

Thanks! Just got tested today, they are saying 2-3 day turn around though which is not what I expected. 1-2 days would be fine. Now we're going to see about a rapid antigen test which also looks to be ok for USVI.

The USVI will prioritize approvals based on arrival time. I have filled a bunch out the last two months and approvals came reasonably quick. Don’t get me started on the BVI however! Once you fill out the portal the first time you can knock the rest out in a few minutes each.

Yeah, I'm glad we are not going to the BVI, even though it is painful to pay to use someone elses boat when ours is sitting in the BVI. But ours had some unexpected issues as well so using it could have been a challenge even if we got there.

Regarding testing - am I correct that we don't need any testing to return back to the US from the territories (PR and USVI)? Sounds like we just need to get a negative test for our son who is 6 and not vaccinated to return to Puerto Rico? For some reason I thought we all needed it.
