HI, Flying out of ORD and looking at flight options. Have a Non stop ORD- STT flight option but it gets in @ 4:42 and I am unsure of the ferry schedule in June and how late the ferry is running.
Have an option of an earlier flight that has a connection on Houston, with 1:09 hour between flights. I have no experience with this airport so I am not sure if this is too tight.

Anyone have an experience they can share? Or info on summer ferry schedules.

Thanks!

What airline? Summer thunderstorms can cause delays in Houston just FYI.

The current schedule for CA to RT ferries is 9:00am, 2:00pm, 4:00pm and 530pm. I would expect the June to be about the same, maybe the 2:00 or 4:00 goes away. It also depends on the day of week you are arriving. I believe there is also a late ferry out of Red Hook by Aquatic. The best way to confirm is going to each of the ferry web sites: Smiths, Road Town Fast Ferry, Native Sun and Speedy's. With your 442 arrival at STT you may be hard pressed to make the 530 ferry. Bags usually come out pretty quickly, like 10 minutes and the taxi to the ferry terminal is 10 minutes. There are other options if the ferry doesn't work for you. Hope that helps a little.

IAH (the Houston airport) runs very smoothly. An hour between flights should be no problem, as long as your flight out of ORD is on time.

Thanks everyone. Flying on United. American our of ORD has outpriced itself for this route for now.

Good point on storms!

Perhaps the Non stop would be best...I only have a carry on so I can scurry off the flight.

Thunderstorms in Houston are for the most part an afternoon issue. If you are leaving ORD to connect in IAH and can make the last ferry in STT storms should be a non issue. You will be out of IAH by 11 am no suspect.

I work for United and am based at IAH .. It is a big airport, and if your Ord flight is delayed it could be a run through the airport. Being the only flight toSTT that day ,United I could possibly hold flight for a few minutes. Just before you land inIAH, look at the Hemisphere Magazine in your back seat pocket. In the last few pages is a layout of IAH that shows gate locations. There is also an Airtran that goes to both C and E gates.

Thank you Normandes! I opted for the Non Stop and a night over in STT for this trip. I am sure at some point I will do the IAH connection but will now to allow for a longer lay over.
