Studio rental Orient Beach - 09/22/2014 04:22 PM

Anyone have any recommendations for a studio rental in the village or near? The one we typically rent is no longer available. We aren't interested in Mt Vernon - thanks

TTOL sponsor Paradise Bungalows are up the hill from Orient a bit, so not real close to the Village, but they are very nice and reasonable.

There are many listings on VRBO, HomeAway, and Flipkey as well.

Check out http://www.shamrock-st-martin.com/en/welcome.php

Next October will be my third stay. You many need to use google translator to communicate with Chantal.

Affordable, near the guard shack, and has a washing machine.

True, but I assume the OP knows that, and was looking for a more personal recommendation.

We used to stay above the Tap 5 and the balcony looked over the village - we loved this location but it is now not a rental. Was hoping to find something similar - just two of us so a studio is perfect.

Just for giggles you may want to take a look at studios on French side of Oyster Pond. FlipKey, VRBO, etc. Not Orient Beach but a 10 to 15 minute drive if you have a car. Lots of unit availability. Competitive pricing. Reasonable selection of restaurants/bars and small grocers in immediate area.

We've stayed in Residence de la Plage #26 which is right on top of the old tap 5 and loved it. It's still available as a rental.

Stayed there last March, it was a great apartment, good view, free lounge chairs/umbrella at La Playa!!! Good access to the restaurants, and especially good breakfast cafe right downstairs…..good deal!

Check out this one bedroom right behind Palm Court. It is great! It is very clean and a short 3 - 5 minute walk to both the village and the beach. Price is great - and it's a little bigger than a studio for the same price. They have another one bedroom and also a 2 bedroom and they are working on a 4th. Stephanie and Bruno are super and here is their website. http://www.koalasun.com/

Do they offer free chairs/umbrellas at any of the Orient beachfronts?

We very much enjoyed Paradise Bungalows but it has not been available during high season for a couple of years now. Seems to be permanently booked. :-(

OK, I know he has a big repeat clientele, didn't realize he was that booked. Good for him!

Re: Studio rental Orient Beach - 09/24/2014 07:38 PM

No I wasn't asking about Paradise Bungalows. We've stayed there many times and you are right it is often booked. Great units with a good price. Bruno doesn't have a chair arrangement with any of the beachfronts. I was asking about the other studios someone posted in Orient Village, Kaolasun.

Thank you.

Vactioneer, they look very nice, but I can't translate! Do you know if there is an English site, or the prices?

Re: Studio rental Orient Beach - 09/24/2014 07:46 PM

I clicked on the US Flag in the upper right corner of the page for English version.

The VRBO listings has all of their units under 'Owner Info' - then All my listings - It will show the other two that are completed! Stephanie speaks little English and Bruno even less but they are a super nice couple! Your are right fabila, click on the US flag.

Oh, and yes we did have free chairs at one of the beach bars. I think it was the one with the tan chairs? I can't remember for sure tho. We had friends on the island and hung out down at Kakao most of the time we were there. They also furnish really beautiful beach towels that I wanted to take home with me!!

Re: Studio rental Orient Beach - 10/02/2014 07:45 PM

They are a lovely couple and great to rent from.

We have never had a problem speaking English with Bruno. He may have a heavy accent, which I find extremely attractive (LOL!)but aside from that we understand he other perfectly. We have rented from him on 5 occasions and had dinner numerous times at his restaurant.

On several occasions I wasn't able to get connected using the wi-fi in the bungalow but rather outside which was several years ago. I believe that has been resolved. Scott and Donna stay often so he can chime in on connectivity. Scott?

Does Bruno with the Koala rentals have a restaurant? We did not know that. I realize there a many Brunos! Fabila, if that is the Bruno you are talking about, what is his restaurant called?

Re: Studio rental Orient Beach - 01/30/2015 04:02 PM

I came across Koala Sun rentals on vbro. Sounds like you've stayed there. What can you tell me about the units? Reliable WIFI, noise in the area, views from the unit(s), parking?
Thanks!

Re: Studio rental Orient Beach - 01/30/2015 05:35 PM

This thread has gotten two different rentals confused. There is Bruno with O Paradis bungalows and another Bruno with Koala Sun rentals. Bruno's O Paradis does not include beach access chairs, he is the Bruno that has Dreams Beach Bar and also Petit Casino. Apparently (according to Vacationeer2) Koala rentals do have beach chair access.

Re: Studio rental Orient Beach - 01/30/2015 09:21 PM

I did know that the 2 Brunos are not the same. Looking for information about rentals on Orient as it seemed 'Vacationeer2' commented about Koala Rentals. Or if anyone else had specific information about the agency and/or units ect. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

We have used Sprimbarth Cap Caraibes for booking studios @ Orient Bay any of the Residences de la plage are nice not very fancy studios. Rentals from past years have included chairs @ La Playa as long as you eat or drink there. We have used the for over 10 years
