Beach Bars on Grand Case

Beach Bars on Grand Case - 01/08/2015 03:41 AM

Are there beach bars on Grand Case like the ones on Orient or is it mainly restaurants? I don't remember seeing them on my visit to Grand Case but it was years ago. We are thinking of changing locations from Orient because of all the reviews about stinky piles of seaweed all over the beach but we are hoping to find something with a similar atmosphere. We enjoy walking up and down the beach and trying different beach bars and then having restaurants to walk to at night.

There are several beach restaurants/bars in Grand Case. Near the lolos, in the middle of town is Le Soliel, which has chairs on the beach. They have great cocktails, nice lunches, very nice people. Further down there is Love Beach, very popular and then Captain Frenchy's and Enold's place, Caribbean Creole Food. There is also Calmos, on the other side of the Lolos; however, the beach is not as nice there. A little rocky. Grand Case is getting more people coming now during the day, not just at night. Hope this helps. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />

No charge for chairs at Enold's if you have lunch there. We have enjoyed days on the beach there on a few trips. The food has always been good there and very reasonable.

The beach bars are not like Orient so don't expect Happy Hour, music. Enold's is a restaurant on the beach side so they offer beach chairs. As Elisabeth indicated chairs are free if you eat there. The owner is a lovely person, food is great and reasonable.

Having said that though, I believe Rainbow does have music on occasion but nothing on a regular basis and probably only in high season.

I believe there is a small hotel called Love that also rents chairs on the beach in GC.

I think Calmos Café has live bands on Thursday and Sunday nights.

Calmos has music some nights, never been there during the day, so don't know if they ever had music during the day, if that is the other person's question.

Yes, you can walk from GCBC to Enolds but there is one tricky spot shortly after leaving GCBC. There are some slippery rocks very close to a wall that one must navigate around. Once past those, the walk is fine (you do have to duck under the two town docks but that is just a quick duck) all the way down to the end. By the way, we have walked from GCBC all the way to the mountain and it is really interesting to feel the beach texture once you have gone past Le Petite Hotel. The sand feels like crushed sea shells!
