No beach bar at La Vista Beach??

No beach bar at La Vista Beach?? - 01/08/2015 03:39 PM

with sadness I have just discovered that there is no longer a beach bar at the La Vista Beach resort,,,only a bar at La Vista. Is it so that we can use the Flamingo beach bar,,and what is it like and how far to walk? I always like to have a pool bar or beach bar where we are staying,,,but I guess we will just have to stock the condo a little more!

Certainly you can go to Flamingo bar, wouldn't be a bad walk from LVB, as it's flat from there. There hasn't been a beach bar down at LaVista Beach for several years. We didn't go down there, but Peter said that they had replaced all the decking down there with a Trex like deck, like they have now at the restaurant, which looks very nice. It's been a while, but we enjoyed drinks at sunset from the pool at LaVista Beach when we stayed there. Plastic cups and you're good to go and cheaper, if you're stocking from your own room!

Meg,
You can enjoy your own cocktails at the pool. You can if you wish walk up to La Vista and there is a pool and bar. There is a lot with in walking distance during the day and night to plenty of louder places like Buccaneer and Red Piano but the resort itself is a bit more relaxed.
Cheers,

Todd,,,I can see what you are saying. Hopefully this ole girl and our friends can make it on foot to several of these places when we get bored sitting around. We will be driving a fair amount,,,but when no one wants to be responsible for driving (i.e. wants to sip) then we like to have beach bars, clubs, food, etc. near by....when we stayed at Royal Palm and the Old C,,,we had that,,,so this will be different. I still feel this will be closer to things than say...The towers at Mullet Bay. (lol,,,just after I took La Vista Beach,,,I got an exchange for the Mullet Towers for a 3 bedroom)

La Vista will be closer to some things than being at the Towers for sure, but the Towers three bedroom could only have been a penthouse unit and they're pretty darned nice!

Isn't it a short walk to the Hideaway restaurant, which has a small bar?

The Hideaway is at LaVista, yes, just up the hill.

Sorta off topic, but about LaVista....are the units fully air conditioned? I believe the kitchens are partial, which means what, no oven/broiler?

Thanks!

We stayed at La Vista Beach resort in June 2013 and are booked to stay there again this June. We loved it. It is a smaller, quieter resort but you are within walking distance of some more active places (Flamingo being one of them). We rent a 2-bedroom unit and it has a full kitchen with an oven (I can't speak for the studios, as I've never seen them). It is fully air-conditioned throughout. The pool at the beach resort is smaller and quieter, but we enjoyed that as we often had it to ourselves, or with only a few other people. There is a larger pool up by La Vista Resort (across the street and up the hill by their Hideaway Restaurant), but truthfully, we never ventured up there to use it. We enjoyed our own homemade drinks either by the smaller pool or from our balcony. La Vista is a very well-run resort with nice management. Sunsets are magnificent and you can watch as the cruise ships glide by. We have stayed in many different resorts while on island and have to say that LVB is one of our favorites.

P.S. - An added benefit, at least for us, was that we didn't get the constant 'buy a timeshare' push that we've often gotten at other resorts.

Thanks!
It's the two bedroom I've been offered in exchange for our Towers unit. With RCI damn points system, for when we want to go, the points exchange is lower there.
We really only want to use it as a base for operations,as we plan to leave during the week for 3 nights in Anguilla.

Yes, the units are fully air-conditioned. All of the units at La Vista Beach have full kitchens, which include a range with oven. At least some of the units at La Vista have just a cooktop without an oven.
