Golf

Golf - 01/25/2015 09:26 PM

Have played twice this week. Course is starting to dry out as usual this time of year. Lots of weeds and dry spots on the greens. Twelve new golf carts available! AND ... Not a single snowflake has fallen here, although all those white butterflies look like snow in some places. SXM is not a golfing destination. If I were here for only a week I would not bother to drag the clubs. It is expensive for the condition of the course ( exact cost I do not know). We get a reduced rate as Towers charter owners. The course is not too long and is very scenic. It is not a "cow pasture" , but could use a few(quite a few!) millions of dollars to get it in shape. They are raking the sand traps, which is a new development <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

The Towers appears to be doing a lot of hotel business. Many people checking out most mornings early. We are guessing from the age and level of physical fitness that many guests are crew from yachts.
It looks like the interior decor is done and IMHO is quite hideous: black sofa, primary colors for pillows and a mustard yellow club chair and hassock with beige brocade- like drapes. But everything is clean and the staff is responsive to our needs. There are a dozen umbrellas and many lounge chairs. If I have not addressed a specific question, please ask and I will do my best.

Thanks Janice, I was not overly excited with the colors, as they started changing them when we were there in March. Thanks for the update. Enjoy
