Club Orient

Club Orient - 04/30/2015 02:45 PM

Many times at Club Orient I meet people that tell me there friends and family have no idea they go to a nude beach. My family always knew I came to Club Orient, my friends and distant relatives know because on my birthday it is my favorite place to go and spoke about it on facebook. Those that know me know I spend the day with my line "It's my birthday can't you tell I wore my birthday suit".
So my question is do folks know you go there or not? Is it your little secret from the world?

nope, no secret...everybody knows....we hate swim suits...

Nope, no secret for us. It isn't the first thing I mention in conversation, but I make no effort to hide it.

Re: Club Orient - 04/30/2015 03:47 PM

our children and my parents know. We don't really talk about it nor are we ashamed of it.
We find many folks are not mature enough to handle the information...when they start snickering about the naked people in SXM..you always know it is good to steer clear of them.

Wife and I really don't advertise our trips to nude resorts or beaches. I guess if someone ask if we have been to nudist venues we would probably tell them yes. We have posed this question to couples we have met at at various beaches and resorts and the majority have told us they dont advertise it either.

They don't ask, I don't tell. But if they should I wouldn't deny it...

Re: Club Orient - 04/30/2015 05:13 PM

I guess my feelings are the same as Astropilot's. It's nothing we try to hide, but we have relatives who we know wouldn't understand, and we just don't want to try to explain. I'm still waiting for one of them to come walking past, off of a cruise ship, then we'll be in for some fun! However, if one of them asks outright, we'd be honest. Try it - you'll like it!

Anonymity is the reason we go to the Club O beach.

I couldn't care less who knows.

Re: Club Orient - 04/30/2015 08:22 PM

For the most part, the only folks who know are friends we've met while staying at Club O...I guess we're all kindred spirits. For the rest of our friends and family we tell them we're heading to St Martin in the Caribbean.

We don't advertise, although I do wear my Club O ball cap when walking the dog in our neighborhood or going to the store. Keep waiting for someone to ask me about it, but no one has yet.

I appreciate the variety of answers. We always just call our trip to St Maarten just that. We stay in a dutch side timeshare, and have been day trippers to Club O since our girls used to go with us to the present.
When mom and I were there for a day on a cruise ship once, I went topless at orient beach, and asked mom if she cared to join me. She said she didn't have enough lipstick for that.
I enjoy the Beauty of the beach at club orient, the awesome people both staff and tourist type, and the pleasure of no tan lines and all it gives me.

Our kids and close friends know about Club O. If the topic comes up, I will let it be known we have been. It is fun to see the reaction of the friends who don't know. Some have shock and horror, some are surprised that we would actually join in, and then there are the few that ask what it's like. Most of them say they would like to try it sometime, but they are sure they could not go through with it when they get there. My response is always the same, "You will be surprised how easy it is to go bare, when everyone around is naked, AND, no one is paying any attention to you anyways."

I also have to admit that some of the friends who have shown interest have shocked me as well. It always gets interesting when one spouse is very interested, and the other spouse is deathly opposed.......

Most of our friends and family know but we don't go out of our way to tell anyone. Co-workers are left in the dark due to my position at work. We enjoyed our initial trips enough that we recommended OB to a couple that we have been friends with for a long time. They now accompany us to Club O at least every other year. I agree with many posters that the reactions of folks is a most interesting study of human nature. I feel that most folks would like to try but are too concerned about what everyone else thinks of them. I quit worrying about what other folks think of me back in high school.

Re: Club Orient - 05/01/2015 12:18 PM

I remember a female friend of many years told me she and hubby were going to SXM and I immediately said it was my fav. island. naturally, she asked where to go what to see, restaurants etc.

Then I mentioned Club O. That was the 1st time in our 14 year friendship that we both discovered the other enjoyed nude bathing.

Back when we were young and not so fat we never told anyone but that was because we wanted to keep the place to ourselves.

sxmdoc. be careful of co-workers, I worked for a large corporation, saw many of my fellow employees at the cafeteria..imagine my surprise when I saw one of the "higher ups" from "Mahogany Row" on Orient with only a tee shirt on...lol..I was only topless at the time..but we avoided each other for the next 15 years...:)

The knowledge of us being at Club O would put my 89 yr old Father into his grave..and probably some more relatives...for real. Brought up in a very rural town where "hide yourself" meant wearing turtle necks and long pants. But I am good to just keep my good times between DH and our SXM friends.

Re: Club Orient - 05/01/2015 05:06 PM

For those clients who do not want anyone to know of their stay at Club Orient, they falsely inform family or business of staying elsewhere. Should there be a need for subsequent contact, they are advised contact us. As we have already been aware of the ploy, we forward their message along to Club Orient with an apology to Hilton Hotel, etc. Perhaps not surprising, we have dozens of clients requesting this service that is not available if booked directly with hotel. … Jim

Re: Club Orient - 05/01/2015 06:16 PM

We've told people for years that we rent condos or villas in behind Orient Beach in the Village. We tell them that we don't have any contact info until we get there. Everyone has our cells so we use that for contact info.

Re: Club Orient - 05/02/2015 11:05 AM

Nobody here in the US would in their wildest dreams think that we went to Club O. Due to our very conservative upbringing it would be hard for them to imagine us being there. If you told me ten years ago we would be there we would have taken it as an insult. Now it is as natural as can be (pun intended). Since we have gone to Orient beach every time we went they always assume that we are on the north end. We did spend one day there and every day after that on Club Orient chairs. We won't lie if someone asks, but I don't think anyone will. We tell everyone that we are staying on Orient Beach in a suite and leave out the part as to exactly where. We don't rent a cell phone, but keep in contact with our friends and relatives through e-mail. We check it morning and evening and feel that is enough. We go to relax and that is the most relaxing place I know. We went there the first time to have no tan lines (my wife's excuse) and now we go for the friends and the relaxed atmosphere. Sadly we won't be able to go this year. We just might tack on our time we would have spent this year on next year's vacation there if things work out.

Having raised 4 children and spent 36 years in the workforce I am so tired that if anyone asked about our visits to Club O I would probably just smile and nod. My dues have been paid!

Last year, before we left, one of the women at our church (yes, a Churchlady!) said "Have a good time, and no tan lines (with a wink)". We're friends with her on FB, and we also "like" both Club O & Club F on there. Actually, we love both places.

Re: Club Orient - 05/02/2015 03:56 PM

Have never stayed at Club Orient but Orient Beach has always been my favorite beach. When I say that I go to Orient Beach in St. Martin every year there is probably only one in 50 who know it is clothing optional. St. Martin and Orient Beach are still undiscovered and that is a good thing.

Gotta love it! What could be closer to God than nude sunbathing?

Re: Club Orient - 05/03/2015 07:38 PM

We're sort of like JimCandD, we tell family we rent a privately owned beach chalet, duplex (aka Minisuite) which is actually true since those units at Club Orient are pretty much all privately owned. We also tell them that due to the rural nature there that e-mail is the only way to contact us in an emergency, and we check it a few times a day. We don't even think of getting the special SXM cell phone like so many. Alas after 6-7 visits to the same place... people do begin to wonder why we never want to try somewhere else. A few of the more knowledgeable coworkers have asked about "the nude beach" in St. Martin... and I end up explaining that we indeed visit it, and say that it, and the great people we meet there, are the very reason we keep returning!
