Le Tropicana in Marigot - 06/08/2015 11:12 PM

I am looking for the days of operation for Tropicana. Hoping to go there on a Monday night in July. Are they open? I can't find their days of operation anywhere. Phil

Our favorite for over 20 years. Went last February on a cruise stop. Do yourself a favor, get a reservation. We got one by email. There were 3 restaurants that were linked by email and we made the reservation through another restaurant. Some people showed-up for lunch, without a reservation and got shut out.

You could also call, the number shows-up if you google Tropicana restaurant, Marigot. Someone will speak English.

Go BOLTS!!

There's a big difference between February and July on the island. I doubt you'd need a reservation in July.

If I have my heart set on a place, high or low season, I prefer to phone; I confirm they are open (issue more during low season) and make a reservation at the same time. My two cents. Sorry I don't have the info requested by OP.

I completely agree, and we do the same. For the most part, we play it loose and just end up where the mood takes us from one day to another, but if it's something special, we always make a reservation.

We made a reservation last July, had a nice table. By the time we left, all tables were full - most other marina places were quite empty. Wonderful food and service.

We love Tropicana and try to visit on each trip. As wonderful as lunch is we used to enjoy dinners back when the Marina was thriving and vibrant. I'm more hesitant to go to dinner now that there are less people out and about in the evenings. Hoping that maybe with a better exchange rate things will change in that area.

Do people go mostly for lunch or dinner?

Is this the same place people talk about a big lunch buffet? Or is that another location in Marigot?

Not a lunch buffet (that I know of) but you might be thinking of Claude's Mini-Club in Marigot that has an extensive buffet. We haven't been there but heard many good reviews over the years. As far as Tropicana, we have been going for lunch the past several years so I can't say if more people go at dinner. When we used to go for dinner it was a pretty even mix of visitors and local folks and always very busy!

I'd say that dinner is busier, probably because lunch is more casual and other places on the marina are also busy - try La Belle Epoque, also delicious. No buffet at Tropicana. We've been fortunate to get a parking space nearby on the street, before the parking lot.

We have eaten there before, both for dinner and lunch, so it is not a case of IF I want to go there, but if it will be open on the 1 day that we can fit it into our short stay plans. Phil
