Erika Lockdown - 08/27/2015 12:26 PM

Just heard from my neighbor that we are on "lockdown". Can't drive. I didn't hear that yesterday when the PM spoke of govt offices and businesses must be closed. The PM will speak again today at noon for further directives.

That's probably not a bad idea. Last year during one of the heavy rain storms, I recall there being a lot of cars on the road and many got stranded. We also had a relative who was swept away and killed in her car years ago by trying to drive across what she thought was a shallow flooded area by Oyster Pond. Stay safe, everyone! Prayers going out to all.

I didn't hear that specifically either, but as the other post says, it depends on what the weather is like. Once it starts getting bad, stay off the roads for sure!

Neighbor just told us the storm headed south but is expected to return. Yikes!

Return?? No, in general, storms don't backtrack. What's your weather now?

I'm not seeing that, the latest NOAA forecast shows it heading on track for Puerto Rico and on into the Bahamas, the Northerly shift they called for earlier never happened and now seems to be on a mostly Westerly track

Radar shows the heavier rains are just now getting to St. Martin.
