Volunteering in St. Martin - 01/14/2016 01:07 PM

My wife and I will be in St. Martin during February and would like to spend some time volunteering.
We love spending our days on Orient but would also like to help those in need.
Has anyone made a connection with a church or other organization?
What have your experiences been like?

Here's several that I have been associated with over the years.

i-canfoundation.org/get-involved.htm
www.naturefoundationsxm.org
bethechangesxm.com
The zoo also needs help on occasion.
Good luck. Nice idea.

The Red Cross on Airport road is also a possibility.

SXM Pride Foundation sponsors beach clean up groups. Google SXM Pride for contact info. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Keep in mind that if there is no cleanup schedule while you're on SXM, you can always do one on your own. A trash bag, a pair of gloves, some of your time, and a little sweat is all that it takes. Even easier, just try to leave the beach with more than just your own trash.
