Breakfast on Orient Beach

Breakfast on Orient Beach - 01/18/2016 06:33 AM

Is there anywhere on Orient Beach that serves breakfast? We've always had breakfast at Andy and Cheryl's, but that is no longer an option. On Mondays when Andy and Cheryl's was closed we would take the short drive from Club O up to Paradise View, but they're closed on Tuesdays. We'll check to see if any of the new restaurants (if any are able to open during our stay) serve breakfast.

Yellow Sub in Orient Village behind Bikini Beach serves both European and American style breakfast.

In addition to Yellow Sub, Coco Beach also serves breakfast.

Good Morning in Orient Village serves a great breakfast and has great bread and pastries.

Another vote for 'good morning cafe' near the petit casino store in orient village. Each morning we ate there was if tropical Paris with palm trees. If you order orange juice ($4)they have a rube-Goldberg machine that drops each orange and squeezes it, awesome expresso ($2)and among other French things the usual eggs, bacon potato breakfasts.($5). we got out for under $20 easily, which we never did with Andy and Cheryl which was usually $50 with tip. Ate there several mornings.

Yes, Good Morning Cafe it is wonderful, seating is outdoors under umbrellas. One minor drawback, they allow smoking which for me at least is not compatible with breakfast. Otherwise, a very fine place for first thing in the morning.

Where is this place exactly? Did it used to be called macaron? RIGHT next to Yellow Sub?

Its one of the new stores added to the old St. Tropez building. Right next to the driveway between stores. We love it the owners are super nice and they have a very reasonable breakfast

We had a nice breakfast at Alamanda - we saw the sign and entered from the "road" between the Village and Club O.

Macaron is still there ! It's part of Yellow Sub in fact !
They sell bread, croissants, pastries, etc..

Re: Breakfast on Orient Beach - 01/18/2016 06:39 PM

Ok, yes, I knew that it was part of Yellow Sub previously. I thought maybe it had changed names, as I wasn't sure exactly where it was that people were talking about this other restaurant was, but I see now it is a different place.

Macaroon and Yellow Sub are owed by the same person according to the waiter at Yellow Sub.

Yes, they are both owned by Bruno, who owns Petit Casino, and Dreams.

Ah the complete omelet with salad. It was my first salad with breakfast. Some folks smoke but they were all french so I pretended I was in Paris or europe where lots of folks unfortunately smoke. I hate smoking but I love freedom.

I can't comprehend salad for breakfast unless its a late brunch.

My thoughts exactly, Scubaman.

Thank you all for your suggestions! We may have to try them all!

Re: Breakfast on Orient Beach - 01/19/2016 01:12 AM

Salad is optional and a little extra and surprisingly wasn't bad. The dressing was unique and pleasant. I guess French salad for breakfast is like German cold cuts for breakfast and British?irish baked beans for breakfast...........different.

Salad is also served with breakfast at Waikiki. While not on the menu, my husband has been able to get breakfast served on the beach at our loungers. His omelet more is accompanied by a simple green salad with a light vinaigrette.

Paradise View also serves salad with breakfast. We were surprised the first time! Better for us than hash browns I suppose.

Don't think anyone mentioned that "Good Morning" replaced "Bread and Cake". As someone mentioned, the complete omelet is great, and their almond croissants are the best we've ever had. And no calories!

Know exactly where it is if it replaced Bread and Cake.
Thank you!

Lol....I said the same thing,...I was thinking "oh, it must be a fruit salad, because, well..it's BREAKFAST!"
Ummm, NO! wink
No matter....it crunches, it is fresh, it is healthy, and I'm pleased to be having it. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

I second the comment about the almond croissants at Good Morning. We stayed in the studio directly over them last January and the early morning smells were a nice bonus!

Re: Breakfast on Orient Beach - 01/22/2016 01:48 AM

We stayed in the same unit about three years ago. Being an early riser, I stumbled down stairs to see what the delicious aroma was, they weren't open yet but the boss let me buy some croissants and a couple of coffees. Whoa! realized I should have ordered American coffee. That would wake up anyone.
