Thanks for the pics! I love to see everyone's photos and dream about being there. We do not go during high season so have never seen Maho quite like that!

Was almost the same in November. First time we did not stop and watch the planes, have a drink our entire trip. It was just too crowded!

From our Terasse pool! Yep it was like that certain says, is the Cruise ships! Those days we stayed poolside with the bartender on the terrace. Once the crowd dwindled, we'd walk to driftwood for 2fers and head back to the pool

Have gone through Maho several times this trip, saw the crowds like that almost daily over the past month. They're bringing them in by the busload, and the less beach there is, the more people that there are in the road. The buses have been dropping off people and picking up them at the rotary by the Maho market. The cruise lines must be selling that as an optional land excursion.

Drewmon,

Yes, the cruise lines have offered this excursion for a couple of years now.

Crazy! We have never seen these kind of crowds when we've been there (July usually). We're going in May. Will things lighten up by then? Probably on a day less ships are in.

Wow!! Way too crowded, may have to rethink going there for one and a landing <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

We usually go on Sundays around 1130 in the morning and stay until 1-2.

Check the cruise ship schedules and go on a day when there are no ships in port, or just a few. Today there were no ships, so hardly anyone was on the beach.

We have found it's pretty cleared out late afternoon when the cruisers head back to their ships.

Yes, however, if you want to see all the large international flights arrives you will have to put up with the cruisers, because they all fly in late morning, early afternoon. You can get scheduled arrival times from the Internet; Google SXM Airport.
