coupon book

coupon book - 03/16/2016 12:44 AM

I noticed there is a sponsor on this forum that has access to discounted rates for various restaurants and places of interest. Does anyone have any additional information about this or personal experience to share? We are returning for our second SXM vacation this April after spending a week there last September.

Thank you! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

I have been back through the threads and I can't seem to find the reference I was talking about (so many threads to read through)..I believe it was about a month or two ago and was talking about an excursion I believe (possibly but am not sure) When I went to this guy's site it was a membership site ($49) for a "secret link" to special rates around the island. This seemed odd to me but thought I would ask and see if anyone knew anything about it.

It sounds as though you're talking about Jeff Bergers site.

Over a lot of years I've heard people either love his site or hate it. Personally speaking, I don't belong to it.

I'm sure there are benefits to membership if you are totally new to the island but I think you can pretty much get the same info basically here and for free! To each his own.

But secret? Really? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

That site is owned by Jeff Berger and he is a member of TTOL. I DON'T know if he is a sponsor here, but he could be. You can reach him at http://everythingsxm.com/sxm/about_us/ Members are offered discounts at several SXM businesses.

The OP may be referring to Jeff Berger's site. As far as I know, he is not a sponsor here.

Thanks all! I really appreciate & enjoy all of the info everyone shares! We, too, have fallen in love with the island!

Jeff's site is definitely a secret. He refuses to disclose what the discounts are until after you paid for the membership, which is why we never joined. I suspect many of the discounts are either things we wouldn't use or are offers we could find elsewhere.

No, Jeff is currently NOT a sponsor. It's really easy to see who is a sponsor here. Just click on the sponsors list and scroll down.

I know you can do that and have done it many times, but did not take the time before my recent post. I also realize that sponsors change from time to time for different reasons. Jeff should be a sponsor here as many TTOL members are members of his site and obviously other members are interested in joining. He offers about 250 discounts now from various island businesses.

At the airport, before you leave the baggage area is a rack with all sorts of information literature. One of them is a 3"x5" booklet with discounts all over the island. I can't remember its name but I always pick one up because there is a 10% off coupon for the Grand Marche.
