Tragedy Averted on Nettle Bay

Tragedy Averted on Nettle Bay - 05/15/2016 10:53 PM

We were sitting at Dreams and a boat pulled in and we saw them take a person off the boat. At first we thought it was a child but then we herd it was a 73 year old man that had heart problems. People at Dreams ran to help in including a couple of off duty Gendasrmines who started performing CPR. The Par A Medics arrived and shocked him 5 times and brought him around. They took him away and said he would survive

That's great to hear, but is survival a tragedy?

Title says Tragedy Averted. The purpose of the post was to say how so many helped out and saved the person's life. However, some people have to critique the grammar, the verb tenses, and the reason the poster wrote it in the first place. I now understand why people have switched to the posts on SXM on Facebook. No pompous, condescending and sophomoric comments. Just people looking for information and supporting each other. I totally appreciate the people who are the moderators of this website. Their dedicated time to this website is a labor of love and to help others appreciate what SXM is all about. Others use this site as their personal blog to denigrate those who don't agree. I am off this site. Sorry to those who do such a great job.

Ah - instead of the lecture - what you don't know or realize is it has been changed to "tragedy averted" it did not say they prior. It said Tragedy at Nettle Bay. When I first read it it was very startling. So I take offense to your lecture directed at me as this is maybe the first or possibly second time I have ever questioned a title.

FWIW, the original title did not contain "averted", and was edited, such that the subsequent postings seemed out of place, and perhaps a bit unkind if you looked post edit.

I can fully understand your confusion, but I have to say your anger is misdirected.

Looks like an iron salesman could make a fortune here, once everyone gets their panties unbunched.

Bottom line, thanks for the post JanBob, and a salute to all involved in saving this man's life.

I am going to disagree as NOT everything on the facebook sites is as you stated. First of all, most are "closed" sites and not open to all so the majority of people can not see what is posted and NOT all are welcome contrary to what many believe or are told. I am sometimes sent what is posted elsewhere and it is NOT always positive, there is censorship and disparaging remarks and comments and even personal attacks are made.

With that, this one is done.
