Has anyone used Best Deal Car Rental? With what result?

I can't speak specifically to Best Deal, but they share and office and phone with Ace/(I forgot), whom I deal with all the time, and you can't beat their $80/week for an I10 in the summer. I suspect they all have common ownership/DNA, their price nice and low, and service and cars are acceptable.

rmg49,

We rented through Best Deal for our most recent trip this past April and had no complaints at all. The car was a fairly new Nissan Versa (the new part always makes me a little nervous) with a full tank of gas, and was immaculate when we picked it up though not so much when we returned it. It was perfect for all five of us and more car than we needed for two.

This was a first time rental for us with this company so there were no 'special' rates as a return client but they did manage to beat the other companies we got quotes from by a hundred dollars or more on comparable cars for the exact same rental dates.

The only down-side of the deal was we had to pick the car up at their Airport Road location as opposed to getting it at the airport, but they were also more than willing to pick us up at the Towers at our convenience to get the car. They have a booth at the airport but the line was too long so we did have them pick us up.

We dealt with 'Randy' both on their 800 number and via emails and found him to be very prompt in responding and answering all our questions and concerns.

Thank you both for taking the time to respond so quickly. I have now booked the car with Best Deal.

We arrive next week!

I've used them for 14/15 years and have never had any problems

Can someone tell me what their rate for liability insurance is? Thanks!

Best suggestion - call them on their 800# and ask them directly. I think we got the rate from the website originally or from a first email but when I actually made the booking they offered me a considerably better rate than originally quoted.

I booked it in at $8.00 per day. They state coverage is $1,100,000 with a $900 deductible.

I did call, but had two different people tell me two different rates. One said $8 per day, the other quoted $10 per day. We already have our car booked with AAA, just wanted to see what others were charging for their liability rates. Thanks!

I just look at total cost when comparing and no longer try to break down the components that comprise the total.

We usually do the same and always ask for a TOTAL price. But I noticed that some liability rates are all over the place, but that may be because some are 'zero deductible' rates, while others have a deductible.

I think that is definitely the wisest choice. Ask for a quote including everything YOU want and then compare those prices and go from there.

Here is a funny story about Ace. Last year we stayed at Orient for a few days. When we came out to get in our car to leave on the last day realized a coconut fell from the tree which we were parked under and left the fender caved in. I found a long board and managed to get it under the fender to get most of the dent out. We worried about it for two hours because you could still tell it was damaged and the paint was cracked but they never noticed and on we went to the airport. Bill

Pat,
Do you know if we have to go to the airport counter if we have a reservations or do they have a van we can hop on to pick up our vehicle at their lot?
Thank you!

Ss,

I know they have a van but I don't know the exact procedure. The line was long at the airport and we were glad they were meeting us at our timeshare once we called them.

We called from our room and by the time John got downstairs in the elevator they were already there to take him to do the paperwork and collect the car.

The woman who picked him up drove, so he said, like she was being persued by demons but they arrived safely and within an hour after our arrival and while I was fixing lunch he was back with the car.

Re: Car rental - 01/30/2017 01:39 AM

Thank you for the information. Online they have the best price for our time frame. We are heading over to the French side so it isn't cost effect to take a taxi and have them delivery the car later though I know the car will sit the first few days as we will walk to the beach and dinner. Sand gravity usually casts its powerful spell.

Re: Car rental - 01/30/2017 02:51 AM

That's the best advice that we, also can offer.
Total means no surprises at the end of the rental period.
Base Rate, Liability, Tax, multiple drivers are different for each company.
