South Carolina Couple Loves Orient Beach! - 10/28/2016 02:09 PM

Love Love Orient Beach! One of most awesome beaches we have traveled to! The tempurature (82-84) is almost perfect, not crazy hot! We had a blast on a 'Tiko Tiko' day cruise (which conveniently leaves from Orient Beach) We met some cool people on the cruise and later that evening had fun and good food at Papagalos. We are returning Nov.5-12,2016. We went on the 'Pik Nik' last time.. Does anyone recommend any of the other "Tico cruises?

We've gone on Tiko Tiko to Tintemarre which was fun and then another year did the round the island. The round the island should not have happened that day, the water was really rough and 90% of the passengers got sick (I did not). I won't forgive Phillipe for that, he should have cancelled.

We did the around the island. Overall we enjoyed it, but it was probably too long. Half day to tintemarre would probably have been better.

The Tiko Tiko trips to Tintamarre are nice. We too found the around the island to be a very long day.

I cannot recommend his st Bart's cruise which was death defying. No exaggeration.

Check the weather for winds and waves yourself because in our case he chose a full boats money over our pleasure and safety. He should of cancelled.

Last Wednesday we did the Tiko Tiko cruise to St Barts. There were 16 of us. I had heard horror stories too on the sea condition when crossing the stretch of the Atlantic between St Martin and St Barts. However, this had to be a top 10 crossing as it was very calm and smooth. The seas were only about 3 foot swells and we had a very smooth sail. It was about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour crossing and we arrived around 11. We had until about 2:30 to explore before having to be back on board. As previous comments said, you should check the forecast prior if you have any concerns. Just as a final comment, now that I have done the sail over, I find no reason to ever have to leave St Martin to go to St Barts again.

We went in the power boat with 10 pax and the weather buoys when we got back alive said 3.4 meter waves (approx 11 feet)seas and an 8 second period and 35 knots of wind. I'm sure there are way better days that make that a great trip and hopefully with a captain that knows when not to go.

We do listen to our guests, we no longer offer the Scarab power boat to St Barths just the TikoTiko catamaran it is longer & more stable and you can hear each other talk enjoy the sail over..less bone jarring...oh and you don't lose your drinks mid-air.... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

I apologise if you think I was commenting on your experience.
I was not. I was stating simply that the sail over is more pleasant than with the power boat.
