When the victim is identified, at least the family can get some closure. Possibly just a case where the driver was unsure of his/her location and drove off of the pier and drowned before escaping from the vehicle. Sad situation regardless, but hopefully no foul play involved.

7 years ago a man went missing from LaSamanna and he rented a BMW from a car rental agency. If you google Robert Brous from LA there is info, just cant figure out how to post it!

That fits, in terms of there being a BMW involved, which to me is somewhat of an unusual car for SXM. The current story said that there was no plate on the vehicle, but I would think they should be able to get a VIN number from the car though. IF this would turn out to be the car with this gentleman, at least the family would have closure.

SXM news Interesting that there has been no communication between the Dutch and French police regarding this matter, as it seems like this could be this missing person.

Daily Herald story Apparently the car has been identified as the one this man went missing in. His family hopefully will now have closure that he has passed away, although they may never know what really happened.
