Greenhouse inspection by health officials

Greenhouse inspection by health officials - 02/28/2017 08:38 PM

I tried to have meal yesterday at midday at the Greenhouse in Simpson Bay.

Their kitchen was closed and 3 employees from the Inspectorate of Public Health were giving them a bad time.

Does anybody know if there are open again?

On our way there now. We will let you know. I wouldn't say they were raided. They were inspecting all the bars at SBR last week.

Yes, bad choice of word. Raided gives it the connotation that something illicit or illegal was taking place rather than a routine inspection.

We call it being inspected, however, they would never come during rush time.

Since the restaurant is back open, have changed the title of this post.

Most newspapers on the Island use the word "Raid" to describe.

For example, the Daily Herald on Feb 5th 2016

PHILIPSBURG--The Inspectorate of Public Health control team has been ordered to stop raids of businesses until further notice. The Council of Ministers (CoM) decided this after reports surfaced of misconduct by the team during a raid at Sonseta Maho on Wednesday, where the Point restaurant was closed down by inspectors of Public Health for several violations.

OK, based on that newspaper story, unless they are ignoring their instructions, they are no longer doing 'raids'..
